I saw a quarterback that had grown so much from the beginning of last season to the end. I saw a quarterback who was not only competent but someone you could win with. I heard from every guy inside and outside of the building how hard he works and naturally assumed that he would be a little bit better this year than he was last. With that growth he would now become a guy that we could occasionally because of. Clearly I was wrong. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky looks worse than he did as a rookie and he has no confidence. He's a liability.

I also thought Nagy would get better as a coach and more importantly as a play caller. The regression of EVERY player on offense not named Allen Robinson should be enough to get most offensive coordinators fired. He's stubborn and he's failed to adjust to his roster and how teams are playing him. He appears to be a really good guy and a competent leader but he sucks as a play caller.

I wonder what the precedent for Mitch's current career arc is. Terrible as a rookie, very good his 2nd year, then falls off a fucking cliff. Mariota is the closest recent example I could think of but his rookie year was way better than Mitch's.

We all were wrong about one or the other.

Nagy is looking like a John Foxish type. Great Monday through Saturday but can't do it on Sunday's. I bought in 100% on him. He's not the guy until further notice.

Boomer said his comp is Bortles.

I don't even see that. Bortles at least made the Conf Championship game and had a ten point lead into the 4th quarter. I don't think that is even a pipe dream for Mitch at this point.

Except Bortles is far more accurate.

As long as it is a prediction of a Bortles-like career then I'm fine with it.

Bortles best year: 35 TDs and 4400 yards. It would take a miracle for Mitch to get there.

I think current Packers OC Nathaniel Hackett deserves most of the credit for that. Might be a name to consider to replace Nagy this offseason.

Yeah but I remember that year. Iirc like 75% of his production that year came in total garbage time. At least Mitch's good year the team was also good.

And I was right ...

I wanted Watson.

And I didn't like the Nagy hiring. Ex Arena League QB...what else did you expect play calling wise? 30 runs a game? Lol

Don't give up so easily.

Mitch was a very accurate QB in college so the problems that are here today are fixable. There is a player in their somewhere.

Mitch's problem is so clearly seen now...it's nerves. That's it. He doesn't have a great line, so-so receivers, but the guy has happy feet and a happy arm. He's affected by pressure...which means he'll probably play better on the road, have better games when it's not a prime time game etc.

  Mitch's best game of the year was a primetime game on the road.

Mitch's best play of the year was during a road game with his team trailing while there was like 10 seconds left in the game. Tough to face more pressure than that in a regular season game.

Mitxh has one main problem that causes all others - he cant react quick enough to throw the ball. He stares down one receiver. He misses wide open receivers all the time. If we could see that high camera we would see it more. U cant play QB in the nfl if you lock on to one receiver and dont even consider a 3rd or 4th. Last year was the fluke, not his 1st or 3rd year. He extended plays with his feet and made some big plays just due to athletic. The league figured that out and he can NEVER be a pocket passer. Doesn't have the ability. He is the worst pocket passer in the nfl including backups and probably some qb coaches and oc's. He is at best a gimmick QB running some wildcat or unique formations.

GB said it after game 1 and they were right - they just had to make mitch play Qb and they would win.

and the OL is actually ok at pass blocking. He doesn't get a ton of pressure. Anecdotally it seems to me the pressure he does get occurs because he is clueless.

I still hope he does well. When a guy goes from being "good" to God awful and he's a basket case then suckage becomes the thing you expect.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is a mental midget that allows the people in his ear to paralyze him. You'll never see another play like the one he made with his feet against the Patriots because his coach told him to think pass when scrambling. Make a fucking play and get a first down. It shouldn't matter how he does it.

I didn't think Mitch looked good last year, our offense sucked last year too.
