Do you trust Pace and or Nagy to pick the next QB?

Nagy maybe.

Pace should stick to the defensive side of the ball.

Not Pace really. I would trust Nagy but with the caveat that he would pick the one best for his needs. If he is not long for this team that makes little sense.

No one really knows how to draft quarterbacks league wide. As long as he picks one of the consensus top picks then it has just about as good of a chance as anyone.

Exactly.

Remember it has been reported that KC had Mitch ranked higher than Mahomes in that draft as well.

Tony Romo went undrafted
Tom Brady was #199
Dak Prescott was #135
Mark Brunell was #118
Kirk Cousins was #102
Russell Wilson was #75
Brett Favre was #33
Drew Brees was #32
Aaron Rodgers was #24

You can find good and sometimes great QBs outside of the top ten and even outside of the first round.

I thought it was that Reid and Nagy spent a lot of time with Mitch but coyly still wanted Mahomes all along? When asked about those interviews Nagy was nice but I never saw him say he was awesome or can't miss.

You bring in another QB and throw it against the pallet to see what sticks. if he is good, then it was (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky and Pace's fault. If he sucks then it is Nagy's fault and he is fired and also Pace's fault because he can't evaluate coaches and players.

Neither, but I know that's not realistic.

There's no word where a Pace extension is justifiable. Yes, the roster was a disaster when he arrived, but he went all in on Mitch and couldn't have whiffed any harder. Also whiffed on other 1st rounders. That just cannot happen.

I would lean towards Nagy but he really wanted Montgomery and Montgomery looks like he sucks. I'm not confident and either selecting offensive players.

At least throw away a third round pick on the QB and throw him into an open contest. Until you solve qb every position is meaningless.

Maybe lighting strikes and you have something.

The Bears do not have first, third, or fourth round picks next year. They do have two second round picks, though.

Congrats Bob. You did it. Your first good football post.

I wouldn't trust Pace to pick out the correct tomato at a grocery store.

“We felt very comfortable with this tomato,” Pace said of the former vegetable from the Jewels. “It's still young, it's well-rounded, it has an unbelievable work ethic and professionalism, and it's big and strong.”

Why not take a chance on RG3 than a 43 year old Brady? He's with Baltimore. You have nothing to lose at this point.

Once upon a time, RG3 was great and a second overall first rounder. Here's RG3 from this year.

No one wants RG3...and nothing can be proven against preseason opponents.

I’m not sure about this being that -if memory serves- KC traded a long way up to grab Mahomes over Watson (who most boards I saw at the time had as the #1 QB in the draft). I think Reid wanted Mahomes and was trying hard after the Bears grabbed Mitch to trade up and get him before someone else did.

Just my take tho, who really knows.
