Chapman pitched last night in NY, tonight in Houston.
Huge for Houston: Verlander spelling the Astros bullpen last night and getting all but the last 3 outs. Both teams used 7 pitchers tonight, but Peacock was the only Astro pitching back to back days. 2 of the Yankee pitchers who gave up runs tonight also pitched last night (Kahnle, Chapman).

Game 3 not til Friday? So this would be Corbin's bp session day. Might as well have him throw a live inning vs a bp session.


Dunno if it's a credit to Cole and Verlander or an indictment of the Astros middle relief (zero lefties? Good luck getting Soto out), but Hinch really sticks with his starters. Verlander going 7 out of 8 innings in gm 5 while the Yankees emptied out their bp = difference in that series.
