Saw that App State is ranked in the top 25, and it made me think about the next FCS team that could get an invite into the FBS.

I think NDSU could make a quick transition to competitive.

Here’s an article talking about the television revenue handed out to the group of 5 conferences.

Brick, what are your thoughts about the state of Purdue football? Surely you guys are not happy with what Brohm has done so far....I mean heck I think Tom Allen has a better record right now.

I'm very happy. They are missing at this time roughly 10 starters on a team that had no depth based on the coaching change and the abysmal recruiting at the end of the previous coaching regime. They lost at least two players who are NFL players, one of which was projected to be a possible first round pick who hasn't played all year.

So, they've gone young with almost every player being a freshman and they almost beat Iowa, destroyed Maryland, and will beat Illinois. They should beat Nebraska and IU too. They have to beat Northwestern to make a bowl game but we are looking at a 5 win season. The Nevada loss was pretty horrible though.

They'll be much improved next year given the major uptick in recruiting that is already starting to show. They've gone from classes ranked in the 60s and 70s to the 20s and low 30s.

I'll be a little disappointed if they miss a bowl game this year but it's pretty clear the talent they have as freshman and sophomores. With how bad they were, it was always going to take a while to build things back up.

Illini give up the felix culpa touchdown. The happy fall. Sure, you no longer have a shutout, but to take a shutout into the fourth quarter on the road against a legendary opponent is indeed a happy thing. Giving up a score reminds us to be conscious of that. Plus, now they have a goal in the next game. You pitch a shutout and you've just lost your goal. Truly, this "drive" by Purdue is a happy fall for the Illini.

Illinois played in it, too.

They did but Purdue is far more dependent on the pass.

You don't think the rain changed everything? Purdue isn't going to outrush anyone.

Illinois dominated. I'm explaining why my prediction went wrong.

Put NDSU in the Mountain West

$$$ wise NDSU going to the American conference makes by far the most sense.

I just don’t see the Orlando to Fargo commute going over well with UCF.

I know you're joking but they are moving in the right direction.

And it's really interesting to watch this defense - having watched so many Lovie Bears games - it really is a recognizable Lovie D. Lots of Peanut Punches (Hansen) and coverage picks that look just like the Bears in their prime.

I just noticed they were undefeated so far, but they really haven't played anybody yet. They could easily drop 3 of their next 4. It will be a rough November.

I would have never believed IU would win at Nebraska coming into this season. Allen is doing a nice job.

Glad to get bowl eligible so soon since we know we got a loss coming to Purdue.
