The Pitt boy is the key turning this thing around. Maybe even saving Nagys job...(though that's the LAST thing anybody wants because Bears fans now despise Matt Nagy and everything he stands for).

But you saw what happened as soon as he lined up at fullback Sunday. You saw BEARS football. And it worked as good as anything Matt Nagy has ever called.

Amazing what a QB under center and a fullback can do when your regular scheme is stupid and sucks.

It's an embarrassment we don't have a true fullback on the roster, but JP Holtz will have to do. He needs to be on the field for 90% of our offensive snaps the rest of the season.

Otherwise our run game will continue to suck with Nagy. Running the ball Everytime out of the shotgun will ALWAYS fail when you need the tough yards, because it's NOT downhill running. It's stand, wait for the ball, then step, slide, and run into a wall of human ity and hope for the best. And it makes me wanna break sh*t.

Think back to REAL run football when Payton, Anderson, Thomas Jones, etc
would just pop out of their stance, take the ball and just blast downhill for 8-10 yards. THAT is run football.

Not this ballet crap that develops slower than a snail race, that Nagy runs

As you probably can figure I do like the Pitt kid. I am also of a generation desiring a return to the I or Pro formations as soon as possible. That does not seem to be forthcoming any time soon. Every HS and college it seems is running empty sets and handing off from the shotgun. That is where the coaches and players are coming from so...

I mentioned before some of the silliness I see out here in HS football. One thing really ridiculous was a HS coach wanting to run a play with a fullback off guard. He was so afraid or otherwise thinking there was no other way he had the QB in the shotgun with two backs in the I behind him. The tailback was 15 yards back for chrissake.

It really is sad how many coach's have forgotten the art of RUN football.

The few that do are beating teams 51-13 like SF just did. And the Ravens are running over people too.

Some coaches still get it. Boring football is GOOD football.

Though as I sat in the stadium Sunday and watched (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky throw 2yd pass after 2 yd pass, I said to myself "That's just as boring as running for 2 yds."

Nagy is trash.

Kinda makes you wonder about Nagy because it would seem than an "offensive genius" wound see that other teams have adjusted to his vaunted RPO offense by dropping into zone and daring his QB to make accurate passes in tight windows. Any competent NFL OC would adjust the offense to give different formations and looks to confuse the D. Most of his RPO pre snap movement is pointless because it often leads the D right to where the ball is going, and on the rare occasion he confused the D his offense is incapable of executing the play. His RPO may as well be PO, because his QB cannot read the DE and almost always pulls the ball and looks to pass, there is not threat of the run, so teams just play zone and wait for the turnovers. You run play action or bootleg off the I formation and get Mitch on the move, this is not rocket science, but apparently beyond Nagy. Nagy/Pace seem determined to prove they are smarter than everyone else in the league, those guys usually end up as QB coaches and area scouts after they fail at coach/GM. Could see Nagy coaching in college where his Power of Positive thinking BS may actually work with 20 year old kids.

Excellent post. I thought that some of the play calling was basically idiotic especially when they were just a short distance from a touchdown and Nagy didn't even have a running back behind (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky on a second down play. They probably could have heard my screaming at the TV screen a couple of miles away when the genius Nagy screwed that potential touchdown up.

I've said this to you before and for some reason there is a need to say it again.

This guy does not need to start a new topic every time he has a Bears thought. That is a true statement, not being a bully in the least.

Where’s the existing JP Holtz thread that his post should have gone in?

Easily could have (should have) been posted in the draft thread he started; viewtopic.php?f=72&t=119134

This also could have been posted here; viewtopic.php?f=72&t=119198

Or here; viewtopic.php?f=72&t=119108

Really? JP Holtz has nothing to do with the 2020 season?

I am correct but Packers fan gonna Packers fan.

This has nothing to do with the Packers. There wasn't a thread about Holtz, he made an impact Sunday, a new guy started a thread about it, and you bashed him for no reason.

He bashed him for a very appropriate reason. The dude is just doing it now to be annoying. But you know that already.

I think some of his other threads were redundant but this one isn't and I don't see the need to constantly bash a new poster who has the fire and passion.

Some people don't like anyone new.

Jeff George will figure it out as he goes along.

It's not a question of fire and passion or liking. I've already said the guy has pretty good Bears thoughts for the most part.

His new topic button should be disabled for a week or so. That's truth, not bullying or picking on.

Though, FF constantly starts new Bears threads to bash a team we already know sucks so maybe he's simpler than we thought.

It does clutter up the View Active Topics.

You have a Raiders thread and outside of the Bears v Raiders game, probably 90% of your Raiders posts are in that thread. That is the way its done.

Keep posting threads, it’s nice to not hear from the same old people. Even if the posts suck, they fit in just fine with everybody else’s posts that suck. It’s not like Active Topics is so stuffed with new threads anything gets missed, it just pushes old threads from this guy down.

FF is correct.

And Holtz is going to be very important as we move forward. The O Line can't move folks by themselves. And Shaheen isn't quick enough to play fullback.

And Burton and Braunecker can't block
