Yeah that’s ridiculous. Doc Rivers isn’t a genius X’s and O’s tactician but every team he’s ever had with few exceptions has played their ass off for him. Getting guys who are generationally wealthy to bust their ass against the Grizzlies on a January night is definitely part of a coach’s job.

The trick is to acquire guys that you do not have to express that to.

The Bulls problems aren't related to effort. The Bulls primary problem as a team is that they have a buffoon that happens to coach them.

The same buffoon that guys on here applauded for benching Jabari Parker for guys Shaq Harrison. The same guy that continuously trots out. Ryan Arcidiacono even when its apparent that he isn't an NBA player. The same guy that allowed Antonio Blakeney to repeatedly enter the game and start jacking up shots.

He is a dope and shouldn't be near any NBA team's head coaching bench

Doc Rivers is known for running some of the best out of timeout/bounds sets in the business. If that doesn't speak to his abilities as an Xs and O guy i don't know what does.

As a head coach in this league, you have to be able to form relationships and gain trust with players in order to coach them hard. When players know you have their best interest at heart, even when you’re pushing them to certain limits, players will respond to that.”

In touting Boylen’s strengths, Paxson made clear what he viewed as the weaknesses of Hoiberg, who, upon replacing Thibodeau in 2015 was presented as a creative offensive mind and the missing piece to a championship-ready roster.

Instead, that season quickly devolved because of a divided locker room and a team on its last legs. Jimmy Butler called out Hoiberg to coach harder and hold players accountable, and the Bulls missed the playoffs as the difficult circumstances that landed on Hoiberg’s plate were too much to overcome.
