Any thoughts on why would WGN be running 1950's style jingles in 2019?

I don't think radio stations can change their demo anymore. The younger demo isn't listening over the air and nothing will bring them back.

That WGN jingle is awful. It sounds so close to the one that WLS has been using for damn near 50 years now. Feels like a case of out-of-town ownership not knowing the market.

WGN has been pushing potential morning listeners towards their TV product for the last decade. Cochran is just there for the old blind people (who don't buy anything) and for the people in their vehicles who don't understand what a podcast or a bluetooth enabled car are.

Interesting that you brought this up.

I hit the station twice yesterday and both times they were doing commercials for North Shore companies.
