I got it wrong about Boylen. I never thought that they would re-up the guy. Still don't think it was about money though. Especially with them being let off the hook by Hoiberg. They must actually think the guy can coach. This makes the decision to bring him back even worse.

Would have been more acceptable if the decision to extend him was based on money.

They could hire Popovich and PJ as assistants and still suck. That would be due to Gar Foreman.

Maybe bringing in an assistant who could coach some offense would be good. This team is a joke.

An assistant coach does not matter right now. All that matters is getting the first or second pick in the draft. Then they have a shot of moving forward. Otherwise all of this is pointless.

Yeah but look who is making that pick. We're screwed regardless. Gar is gonna try to flip that pick for the next Doug McDermott anyway.

Jim Boylen should not be coaching the first or second pick in this draft or anyone else on this team. And GarPax should not be in charge. Which I guess makes everything else pointless.

No doubt Gar and Boylen should not be around. And more than likely they are fucked for the forseeable future.

I think we're a little hard on Boylen.

This is on the podium for the dumbest things he's said/done in his short tenure, along with telling the team not to attempt fast breaks because they have to learn how to walk and pulling all the starters against Boston. It might actually be number 1 for me.

Walt, take the L on this one. Boylen would not be coaching any other team in the league.

And Parkins has already admitted Nagy might be a bad coach.

I'll take the L if you can tell me who can coach this pile of goo to be a playoff team? Watch the 4th quarter from the 6:56 mark ( don't I wouldn't subject anyone to that) Worst hoops ever

I'll give you the most obvious answer: Monty Williams.

Phoenix was hands down the laughing stock of the league and have made a big turnaround with basically the same players.

Yeah I don't get Walt's love of the coach.

He would not be hired as a head coach by any other NBA team if he was fired tomorrow.

Here it is Matt give the guy a friggin chance! Organizations have gotten rid of Q, Thibs, & Maddon and replace it with what? Maybe it's is time for management shakeups. Earlier in this thread I ask who could coach this group to the playoffs? This is what I get from the boards hoops bigfoot
Greg Popovich
Doc Rivers
Rick Carlisle
Eric Spoelstra
Mike Budenholzer
Brad Stevens
Nate McMillan
which one of these guys would leave where they are to come coach Da Bulls? The answer is quit simple.....none. So being a shit coach is benching your "Star" Player for having 3 defensive laps in a row, benching the biggest underachiever possibly in franchise history ( The White Eddy Curry ) during the 4th quarter is so terrible then fire his ass. Then in 3 moths you guys will want him fired :( I'll sit back and watch how this plays out :D

Well Hoops (too bad you ain't Lori) Lightfoot there is this. There are much better coaches to be had than this clown and we have already watched this "play out" for about a year now.

This dude isn't qualified enough to coach Simeon High School. He is a dope that has already changed course on the philosophy he espoused at the time he became Bulls coach. If that doesn't tell you that he doesn't know what the hell he is doing then nothing will.

He also isn't a guy that has to "get up to speed" on the roster either. He was the lead assistant under Hoiberg and surely he had to have thought about how he'd coach the team while he was busy stabbing Hoiberg in the back.

Lastly saying that we should keep this doofus because Pop and Doc aren't available is quite possibly the dumbest horseshit rationale that i have ever heard for refusing to fire someone.
