Do you forsee the Bulls being involved in one of those 8 ?

I dont, unless its a minor one. I dont see them moving the first overall pick or getting another lottery pick.

Im not sure whats gonna happen, but there are usually one or two blockbusters. Im excited for the draft, Im in the big minority here, but I like it more than then the NFL draft, probably because its a bit more low key and ESPN covers it much better than they do the NFL one.

I dont forsee them trading the #1 pick either. But I am curious if they will package some other players and get another high pick. For example, what if they packaged some players and got back in the top 10 and came away with Derrick Rose and Kevin Love???

Just a minor deal, but cbssportsline is reporting that the Hornets are trading the 27th pick to the Blazers for cash.

Yeah he did, but he also fucked up pretty bad post-dynasty. Let's not forget the colossal mess Pax has to clean up after Krause. The Bulls in 2002 werent in much better shape then the current Knicks team.

Did they consult the Suns before doing that deal?

I swear I was getting ready to post the same thing. Guess the Hornets don't need any players. I hope they aren't getting too big for their britches. Teams that are in cap hell make moves like that.

They just want to give Chandler a bonus for his swell job last season

This really is one of the stupidest damn things teams continue to do. Look at the model franchise of the NBA for the past decade, the Spurs. If they dont feel like they have a need and/or dont want to pay a rookie, they draft a coveted foreign player and stash him away for a year or two till they can bring him in a la Tiago Splitter. I've never understood why teams do this. The Suns couldnt use Luol Deng right about now?

the sportsline article said the Hornets did it to give them more cash to go after veteran Free Agents.

I agree with you guys, I think it is a dumb move.

Jermaine O'neal to the Raptors for T.J. Ford. Will be announced tomorrow night at the draft.

Yeah the Pacers are getting the 17th pick too. This is stupid by Toronto, Jermaine is done.

Denver also traded the 20th to Charlotte for a future #1

Even if he isnt done, he only probably has 1-2 more good years left before he breaks down completely. I agree it is a dumb move by Toronto.

Chris Bosh and Jermaine O'Neal. If O'Neal gets healthy, that's quite a front court. That is a big "if" however.

I don't think this trade really changes too much in the east.

I don't agree. They got $16M off the books for a guard they didn't want plus another $8M from a guy that really can't play basketball. If O'Neal's knee is better this will be a great move for the Raptors. Can you imagine your guy Calderon (what PG isn't your guy?) having Bosh and O'Neal as options? It's not like they gave up a lottery pick to get the guy. When you consider Boston will be a force for the next year or 2 you have to do something creative to compete.

$8M/year would be a great deal for Ford if healthy, although thats a big if. Rasho is overpaid like hell and I didnt read that he was in it in the first report, so that makes it a bit better for the Raptors, although that contract will become an asset next season.

We just disagree on jermaine Oneal. I think he is beyond done as a player. I dont think he has anything left, and he has one of the worst contracts in the league, although that $20M expiring contract after next season will become a valuable asset. I dont think the trade is terrible I guess, but to me Indiana is getting the best player in the deal, and the 17th pick isnt anything to sneeze at. If Ford didnt have that spinal condition this would as bad as the Pau Gasol trade, but considering he does, I'd say the Pacers won on the deal, but not by a large margin.

Wow... wow. What a steal for Milwaukee. I understand the Nets are clearing room to get LeBron, but they are basically telling their fans they will be terrible untill then. Yi is garbage and Simmons had a chance to be a very decent role player but has been injured too much.

He had a great season the year before last and was playing well last season until he got injured. How is he done? That's kind of outrageous to me.

I beg to differ on him having a great season the year before. Do you remember how much of a cancer he was that season, or are you just looking at basketball reference.com. He was a turnover machine and constantly bitched about being traded. He was the supposed leader of an underachieving team. Ever since the brawl in Detroit it has been very apparent he isnt the same player, and his knee injuries have ever furthered that demise. I'm positive he wont average over 18 ppg or 10 rpg ever again. Plus his contract is ridiculous.

He was a cancer. Thats why Indy has been trying to trade him forever. Stats arent everything. LA should be damn glad they didnt get him. TJ Ford was the best player in this deal. And they got the 17th pick. Im shocked the Basketball Jesus actually got the best Bryan Colangelo in a deal.

While I don't like O Neal all that much or think he's going to be all that good, I don't think it's all that bad of a trade from Toronto's POV regardless. Ford is good, but they're dealing from a position of strength, they still have Calderon. And the 17th pick is a total crapshoot. I don't really think the draft is going to be all that deep so we'll see what they come up with. I think it's worth it for Toronto to take the risk and see if he can return to form.

Hmmm...Yi and Bobby Simmons to the Nets for Richard Jefferson

I know why the Nets are doing it, curious as to why the Bucks would give up on Yi...I actually thought he showed some promise last year. I don't see how Jefferson is really going to help them, especially if they get rid of Redd

This trade would have been much better for Toronto. Gerald Wallace is a much better player than Jermaine Oneal is, with a contract.

MJ has to be out of his fucking mind to trade Wallace for Ford. Fortunately the Raptors were stupid and settled on O'Neal.

Yeah, he's a pretty terrible GM. Seems like most of the superstars turned GMs are. Mchale, Bird, Isiah, Michael.

I was up in the Dells last week and got my fill of Bucks coverage. Apparently, the big part of the deal was getting out from under Simmons contract, but there was still hard feelings towards Yi for the charade his handlers put on before the draft, not coming out to Milwaukee and then threatening a hold out.
