JD 1-4, but made his 1 hit count.

JD has been great this month. Quentin has slipped a little and JD has picked him up. JD is making a push for MVP too.

We played great defense tonight. About 5 good to great plays were made.

Twins scored 2 in the 9th tonight to win 3-1. Seven wins in a row for them. Still a 1.5 game lead for the Sox.

Nice play by Swisher coming home on that grounder. I think it was a good job by Floyd getting out of the 2nd only letting 2 score. Especially after Dye missed that catchable ball.

Cooper should have been out there to settle him down before that ball was even hit out to Dye.

I think Floyd found his command after that 2nd inning. His curve looked nasty in the 3rd. Hitting his spots too.

I think he'll put up some zeros for a few more innings. Let's get some runs.

So much for a road win streak.

I try not to get too pissed at our pitchers if we haven't scored any runs yet. Floyd looks like he's just falling apart, but he's not getting any help either. Let's get some damn runs!

Are pitchers have been great all year. We owe them some 7-5 wins. We've hit some balls hard today. Right at them. Still, we gotta do better. This Stults isn't a HOFer.

I just thought Floyd got lazy today. His stuff was good. He just put to many pitches down the middle.

Like I said, the Sox struggle against Lefties. Now its 6 out of the last 8 decisions they have lost to left handed starters, with 1 no decision. Tomorrows starter for the Dodgers-another Lefty. They did a good job to beat Lowe, behind Buehrle in game one of the series. But it's crazy how poorly they are hitting lefties. Man, that biggest lead in the majors shrank quickly. Down to just half a game now, with Detroit just 5 back now. :o Its all fading quickly. After another road game (where the Sox have dropped 10 of the last 11  ) they have to take on the Cubs, who had just swept them. It's just looking a bit bleak now, isnt it?

I would agree for right now. It hurts not having Thome or Crede in the lineup too. However, they have played more road games than away which means the balance of the schedule will have more home than away. Also they only have a 3.9 Runs Against average which is second best in the majors, so I'm not totally sold that the season is going completely down the tubes, but I haven't been encouraged over the past few weeks.

Sox have really brought their gloves to the park today. I think Danks owes them a few drinks after the game.

Funny how Ozzie let Danks hit in the top of the 6th even though he'd thrown 88 pitches. I thought his arm falls off after 80 pitches?? This proves that Ozzie made the wrong call last Friday vs. the cubs.

Maybe, but Danks has been throwing the leather around like crazy today too. And that play by Ramirez to turn the double play was incredible.

Jeez. Finally got Danks a win. 6 innings of shut out ball. His ERA is like 2.60 or something like that now. Remarkable. Yet, he's only 5-4. Should be an all star but with that record he won't be.

Took 2 out of 3 from the Dodgers. Not bad.

Buehrle and Danks pitched great. But like I said before the series started, the Dodgers can't hit.

Now you believe what I said about the Sox vs lefties BD? They got only 2 runs yesterday and were shutout by one, the day before. That had them losers in 6 of 8 decisions vs lefties going into yesterdays game. But they were able to win yesterday, due to-as you pointed out, the Dodgers poor offensive attack. But make no mistake, they struggle to hit left handers. It may again be a problem for the Sox the rest of the season. If Marshall beats them on Sunday, there will be no doubt at all. They seem especially weak with Konerko out and Crede hurting. Guys who might really hit the southpaws better than most.

The White Sox have played 25 games against left-handed starting pitching. Their record in these games is 13 wins -12 losses.
Only 7 left handed starting pitchers have earned a win versus the Sox and 9 have earned a loss versus the Sox. Their last 8 games against lefties (before the last game against Stults) the Sox were 4 - 4.

I didn't include wins and losses by left handed relievers because that doesn't apply to this at all.

I'll take your word that they lost 6 out of their last 8, vs lefties, before this series. I didn't know that. Yes, Steve, that's bad. Goes without saying.

Still, they were 14-11 overall, vs lefties, going into this series. Now they are 15-12. That's not that bad.
