I have to admit...that's where I come down on it.

I'd just be fascinated to see how every touchdown and every interception gets analyzed as a political statement.

We all have to eat some kind of shit sandwich at work, even if you own the place. I don't think that makes the organization bad for demanding conformance and I don't think it makes the employee a sellout to conform. But this is the way the world is right now, no nuance or subtlety and judgements based in public perceptions.

I don't think he wants or expects to play anymore either. And frankly, I don't care.

But guys like Smith & Whitlock appear to be little more than toadies looking to curry favor with the NFL for their bosses. They both have been making judgments based on apparently one sided info, and shaped by an oddly personal vitrol toward the guy. At the same time none of the NFL's actions made any sense, it was a dead horse that they strangely made his absolute conformance to be issue number one. And then beat again.

He's got some strangely divergent numbers, some great, some bad. He's inaccurate, usually throwing below 60% completion. On the other hand, he doesn't throw interceptions and has a better than 2/1 TD/Int. His real value was with his legs when he was at his height. If he is a pocket passer, he isn't nearly as valuable. I would think the years off have been good for his legs but, as we all find out, you get slower with age. He always had a strong arm.

This could be the scouting report on mitch minus the last sentence.

We think Mitch is inaccurate. Colin's most accurate season is lower than Mitch's average.

but looking at the numbers, there is a favorable amount of comparability between the two

Was Stephen A. a backer prior to this? I don't know because I don't watch all that much ESPN outside of games.

If he was, maybe he feels burned by Colin's antics over the weekend when he really had a legitimate shot to return. It sounds personal

Whitlock is probably a conservative who doesn’t identify with a radical leftist trying to champion his causes. Whitlock isn’t using his national sports platform to loudly turn off half his audience either. Kaepernick is. Also, Kaepernick is half white and grew up in a white middle class family. So, Whitlock and Kaepernick probably don’t have much in common.

By the way, I’m apolitical. Most people are moderates. 90% of us are really not that different from each other. But, political media sure can get us riled up. Sometimes, I get the popcorn out to watch the fireworks and laugh. Cue someone calling Whitlock a racist now for speaking against Kaepernick. Yes, even black guys get called racists these days, if the other party has more social justice warrior cards to play. It’s hilarious.

The Bears need this circus. I could care less about his politics. I just want a reason to turn on the game.

Yes, it might be more fun for some of us. But, I just can't see the McCaskey family agreeing to bring him in. I believe that they believe that they would lose more fans and merchandise sales. 25 teams went to Atlanta to see Kaepernick. The Bears weren't one of them, right?

According to the Score they went to the original location but not to the high school.

Oh, okay. I wasn't keeping up then. They were probably the 25th team to sign up, because I'm pretty sure they weren't in the first 24. My bad.

Kaepernick's celebrity lawyer Mark Geragos said he thinks if something's gonna happen it'll be in the next 10 days. He thought there were 2 teams with strong interest. He didn't name them but he said one was a team (i) whose QB was very disappointing Sunday (ii) whose owner gives zero fucks. One of the hosts speculated Bears but Washington might make more sense in terms of the owner situation. But would Kaepernick want his name on the back of an Aboriginal Appropriations jersey.

Geragos thought the NFL was totally trying to spike's Kaepernick's ability to file a follow-up collusion suit with the conditions they put on the work-out (no outside media, NFL would do the filming and own the tapes) and the language in the liability waiver. I guess during the first suit the owners argued that they didn't think Kaepernick could still play NFL-level QB. Geragos thought the NFL would take the tape of the work-out and cut it up to make Kaepernick look un-NFL ready.

Say what you want. But, his volume is low. Kaepernick's volume is high. It isn't the same.

It's different sides of the same coin. The post of yours I quoted above is patently false.
