The NFL even rewards their top seeds by providing a bye for the Wild Card round and they can not produce a higher %. All they have to do is win 2 games and you can guarantee that one of the teams will win the Super Bowl. Still does not have a better % than the NBA.

Odd thread. If you don’t like basketball then yeah it’s probably meaningless. If you enjoy watching basketball then of course it’s not meaningless.

Thats the point. The people that typically complain about it are the ones that dislike the NBA.

"Don't watch the NBA til the playoffs" is typically uttered by those that don't like the NBA. I neglected to mention basketball because their disdain is usually not applied to the college game.

For the record I don't watch the playoffs.

I’m with brick. I only watch the first 82. postseason is too competitive for my taste.

As ltg pointed out, the 1 seeds are clearly the best teams. Best record should be the champs.

There have been 6 NFL wild card teams (equivalent to a 7 seed or 8 seed in the NBA) win the Super Bowl. There has never been a 7 or i seed win an NBA championship.

NFL regular season really doesn't matter all that much if you are hoping to determine who the potential champion will be.

So the NFL regular season is so important that six times one regular season game was the difference between a team making the Super Bowl and not making the playoffs at all. When did one regular season NBA game make the difference between a team making the finals and missing them?

Probably last season's 2nd round matchup between Philly/Toronto. Don't know the difference in regular season records off top but if Philly were to secure home court advantage they more than likely beat Toronto 2nd round and also beat Milwaukee in the next round. I doubt if Toronto wins game 7 if they do not have home court advantage. I can think of some others when I have the time.

Toronto was 7 games batter than Philly
