It's the NFL. Strange shit happens all the time in this league.

One down, about 6 or 7 events left to go.

It's never that easy. Detroit tried that this past week and still almost pulled out the W

Make sure you don't start a Purdue quarterback.

This situation is getting more and more plausible by the week. If the Bears beat Dallas on Thursday night, honestly they are in the drivers seat for the 6th playoff spot. They win out, and its theirs. Doesn't matter what anyone else does at that point.

The Bears could even lose to the Pack or KC and still make it if the beat Minnesota in week 17. The NFC Wild Cards are going to come from the West and the North. Two teams from the South and East is not happening.

Yup. 1st pipe has been layed and leveled off. Went off without a hitch as expected. Thursday's pipe laying will be a little trickier, but totally doable.

That's not true. If the Rams and Bears both win out the Rams get the 6 seed. But the Rams have the Seahawks-Cowboys-49ers coming up and it's hard to see them going better than 1-2 in that stretch.

sure it looks more plausible than it did 7 days ago... but the bears still need to win 4 in a row against good to very good good teams each week..... not an easy ask for a team like the bears with a shitty QB

Minnesota has Detroit and SD on the schedule while the Bears have Dallas, KC, GB, And Minn on theirs.

It's still a pipe dream.

My mistake, FF. I kinda forgot about the shitfuck Rams. Still though, I don't think 3 NFC West teams are going to make the playoffs. Its going to be Seattle/SF, Minne, & Chicago battling it out for the Wild Cards IMO.

If Minnesota wins next 3 the Bears game does not matter week 17.

Lions
Chargers
Packers

"If"

As I've said before, I do not trust Kirk Cousins to win big games in November. The Vikings will lose at least one of those games, possibly two. Cousins has had a better year for sure, but I still have zero faith in him to win a big game until he actually can prove he's able to do so.

The Chargers could be a total trap game for them as they have to travel back to the west coast, and they could be looking ahead to a home MNF matchup against the Pack.

Yeah, Minny is in trouble while the Bears are sitting pretty.

Neither of those are really true. I'm just saying I don't expect a Kirk Cousins lead team to win 3 in a row in December.

But regardless of all that, should the Bears miss the playoffs (and I believe they will miss FWIW), the blame can be placed squarely on the loss to the Packers in week one, and the myriad of blown chances to beat the Chargers. They win one of those two games, and things look a whole lot different for the Bears right meow.

The chances are about 5%, I'd say. Maybe 538 has published some playoff percentages.

The Charger defense is going to be a much better group with James back.

one more win should be good enough to bring Nas back. I'm a little surprised 6-6 didn't get him.

The odds may have changed after this weekend of games but I know ESPN's FPI or whatever it's called had the Bears raising their playoff odds from 3% to 4% after the win on Thanksgiving.

Most sites have the Bears between 5-10%.

Obviously it will jump again should the Bears beat Dallas. If they somehow lose to Dallas, they will probably drop to 0.5%.

Kind of disrespectful to the Beloved to have Dallas as 3 point favorites at Soldier Field. Dallas's wins this year have come against the Redskins, Dolphins, Eagles, Lions, and Giants twice. Those teams all suck. Bears aren't really that good but there's nothing to suggest Dallas is better.

 You might want to check your math again Frank. In addition to the Rams as FF noted, The Bears are 2 losses behind the Vikings. Winning out does not assure anything and they are most certainly not in the driver's seat.

Frank understands it's a given that GB kicks the Vikings ass again in Week 16. Cousins 0-8 all time on MNF.

Well, Frank should worry about week 14 and 15, I'd say.

Frank is worried about the Bears getting to 10-6. Should they do that, I think everything else will work itself out and the Bears will make the playoffs.
