third and 1 QB sneak.

Finally, Nagy calls a play on third and 1 that has a very high percentage chance to get the first down

I agree. I could be wrong, but I think that was the first time he's ever called a QB sneak in his 2 years here.

Having Whitehair at center is likely why he felt confident about calling a QB sneak. Daniels may develop into a good player, but he gets stood up and and pushed back easily where Whitehair at worst is able to get a stalemate at point of attack, allowing QB to get forward. Nagy usually is fumbling through his play call sheet after a play is stuffed and is late getting play call in to Mitch. He actually got the QB sneak call in early and Mitch was able to quickly get up and run the play before the D was ready. Maybe Nagy actually is the one that needed to get to the "200 level", and not Mitch. Maybe Nagy and Mitch finally reaching NFL level offensive competence will be the best thing that comes from the last four games of this season.

"finish second every year"-JR

And he was right. Old Sox fans used to get excited when Los Blancos finished second. Just the way it was.
1959 was an a rounding error. BigKlu!

I'm sure Veeck told him that 2nd place story.

"great season"-1972 Sox fans

The funny thing about this thread is that the play BEFORE the QB sneak was a PERFECT microcosm of Nagys b.s. run scheme and ineptitude as an offensive mind.

It's 2nd and 1, and you have momentum. Now impose your damn will and get 1 yard. Forget that spread offense crap for a play, stick JP Holtz in at fullback (or sign a real damn FB already) and run some godamn Power-I like MEN.

Seeing us hand the ball off to Montgomery time and time again out of the spread only to run into a WALL of humanity is embarrassing and stupid.

Good points. I also have to wonder why in almost all of their games, the defense sometimes appear to be late getting their personnel onto the field. Sometimes it ends up burning them.

That is true. Perhaps also something has to be said that the defense knows exactly where the play is not going to be run and that is off tackle with the fat tubs of goo stationed there.

I don't think Nagy called that game, I think he handed off play calling to the OC.

Yeah something obviously changed because that gameplan was unlike any other this season.

Exactly.. and Nagy said a few weeks ago when asked: would you relinquish play calling duties and focos on being a head coach

His response" if it happens, you'll never know"

YEah, Unfortunately, that was before the play-off season was established. I always wondered how many titles that White Sox team could have won under Senor Lopez guidance if they got in a short series with the Yankees. The Sox had some pitching that in a short series could have beaten the Yankees. Billy Pierce against Whitey Ford were classic match-ups. 8) 8) 8)

I agree but they absolutely need offensive line help at both tackles. The two guards and center are pretty solid. But Leno and Massie are terrible which is why the QB sneak should have to be employed more.

I agree. QB Sneak and Fullback blast all the way down the field. 80 yards, 25 plays, all runs. TD.

MAKE IT YOU, NAGY!
