Bernstein beat me to it. Cuz I didn't say it first. But I had Bernstein's thought as well.

He said this a day or so ago about Shepkowski. When they were talking about him having a kid. Bernstein said something like "Shep has a kid, he sounds like a kid himself."

I agree. Everytime Shep talks he sounds like a 14 year old boy. Both in the way he speaks and what he says. He has the mind of a teenager.

But he's cheap. So Mitch throws him on the air for "fill in shifts" and weekends. Just like he did with drinky and Goff.

That's THE SCORE. We're always gonna have dumb ass producers filling shifts.

And all these dumb producers think it's gonna lead to a big time role at the SCORE.

I would agree with bernstein on this, that being said I really like Shep as he potrays himself.

He seems like a no ego, good guy. He is very knowledgable, but his voice sound like that of a kid going through puberty.

You always hear he has a face for radio. Well shep doesn't have a voice for radio. Its a hard listen even though I like the guy.

Yeah. He seems like a decent guy. It's not only his actual voice that is like a 13 year old, it's the way he speaks also. And some of his thoughts are thoughts that a 13 year old would have.

But yeah, Shep really, really, really loves sports.

Today Shep said that he thinks that (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky threw the interception cuz he forgot that the Bears weren't wearing blue uniforms. Which they normally wear at home. He was dead serious. Wasn't a joke. Parkins rolled his eyes at this one.

He had about 3 or 4 completions to the white shirts before the pick. Then all of a sudden he forgot according to Shep.

Shep is something.

Shep is a squeaky Ronge clone. Long winded preaching. Not as unlikeable as Parkins and Speigel, but only tolerable for a few minutes.

That's a very bad take. But Shep seems like a nice enough bloke. So its cool.

Yeah, he's a decent guy. But, once again, that take is something an 11 year old would come up with.

Shep just had his first kid. Feel bad for his wife. Because it's her first born too. But she has to raise 2 kids.

Did Shep catch his breath yet? Holy shit does he like to talk. I went to something else after listening to the first hour today.

Which is a little different than you normally beating off to Bernstein.

I miss your goff and drinky obsession. Hey Goff is still in Chicago media, can't you watch bulls pre and post so you can critique him?

Sounding like a kid or not, Shep has more interesting thoughts than Bernstein or McKnight.
But yes...Shep sounds very young. Makes no difference to me. FFS....Mike Murphy made a career on talk radio with a nails on the chalkboard voice.

Shep returned to being himself on radio after trying to emulate Bernstein when he was his producer.

These producers need to learn becoming a Bernstein clone is a terrible career choice.

Shep only had a brief stop on the Bernsie train. Shep is from the Mac tree.

Aware. That's why you could tell he was trying too hard when working under Bernstein.

as a Goff critic myself, I gotta admit he's downright good on Bulls pre/post. The added structure of TV seems to help.
