The bottom line is that Mitch sucks when you try to force him into a system he doesn’t fit into.. he can be good if you work with his strengths. A lot of people here seem to have brought this up. Like Ive been saying in earlier threads all year long.. a lot of this is coaching -and the coaching/playcalling on offense has been mostly bad this year.

Mitch isn’t special tho, I feel Watson has the talent to actually become a special player. I don’t see that in Mitch tbh

I don't know about Mitch being special or Watson for that matter. They are different quarterbacks. But I do agree with your first point. The play calling and coaching was bad. Perhaps he was injured and they didn't say anything about it but it seems to me that whatever happened or why it happened that (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky can be quarterback for a championship caliber team and so can Watson.

This, also because Mitch can't make multiple reads to save his ass. Last yr, if Read 1 wasn't open, he'd take off running and it was enough given the awesome D the Bears had. This yr, I think Nagy tried making Mitch stay in the pocket to make another read instead of running and we've all seen Mitch just can't do it. Coupled with a weaker OL, a banged up defense and the offense sputtering the first couple of months, Nagy had no choice but to abandon making Mitch better and go back to making things simpler for him (Not exactly a ringing endorsement for Mitch to be a special player). It's worked the last 3 games more because of the opponents' bad defenses than actual progress being made by (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky.

Green Bay's defense is supposed to be better than the Giants/Lions/Cowboys so next Sunday, we'll see if it's legit progress.

Cowboys are a top 10 defense in several categories and ranked higher than the Packers in most.

They faced Pro Bowl QB Mitch (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky so it's understandable.

But seriously, the Cowboys over 12 games have been better than the Packers. I think the running success from last night will be tansferable to the Packers game. I don't see a reason the Bears won't be able to keep it close and maybe pull out a win. It certainly isn't the Packers D that would make me question the outcome.

I agree, the Vikings proved you can run on the Packers in Wk 2 IF you stick with it. Not sure Nagy or the OL are capable of that. Hicks maybe coming back helps Mack/Floyd bother Rodgers, which if you do(SF/LA I'm thinking of), he's proven he wants no part of the game.

People seem to think an Offensive line doesnt matter. Sorry but it makes a huge difference for a QB.

If you swap Mitch for Watson you would find Mitch doing great behind the better Offensive line and Deshaun Watson would be more like Deshaun Kizer.

But lets ignore the obvious.

Is it all in the oline? No, Mitch still misses things and drives me nuts but Watson is mediocre now with a good Oline - imagine what he would be with our Oline.

Dallas is 23rd in pass defense. 3 spots below lowly Washington, 3 spots ahead of even lowlier Detroit.

Bears D: 8th vs pass, 12th vs run. Green Bay's 18th in pass defense, 28th against the run. So the Bears have some chance for another W next weekend.

Passing defense rank of opponents in Bears wins. Only the Vikings defense in the top half of pass defense rankings:

Denver 17
Wash 20
Vikes 14
Lions 26
Giants 30
Lions 26
Cowboys 23

I don't think that they were garbage. On quite a few of the passes, the defender was right there and (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky threaded the needle in well. The Cowboys did miss quite a few tackles though so I'll give you that.

Rozner’s such a douche. Sorry for the ugly text wall, but this is the way it copied.

“Nagy has Bears’ (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky in line for huge contract

Just as they planned, it’s all coming together for the Bears after 13 games.
In Year 5 of Ryan Pace’s rebuild, Matt Nagy and Mitch (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky are just where they want to be.
Win or lose, this is always the mantra, where the process involves progress, and progress is a 7-6 record and a chance to run the table.
Regardless of what occurs the next three games, the Bears have won four of five and the program is skyrocketing after one-score victories over the Cowboys (6-7), Giants (2-10) and Lions (3-8-1) twice.
This is all the evidence they need to bring the entire crew back for a sixth a season, where a summer will be dominated again by talk of a Super Bowl.
It will also be an offseason for (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky to cash in on all the Nagy talking points, as if Nagy were his agent and driving up his client’s price.
The head coach should really get a piece of the action.
What’s most stunning is that Nagy talks about (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky as if he’s a redshirt freshman at a Division III program, still learning the basics, and we must always remember the learning curve, lest we be cruel and unfair.
After three years in the NFL, Nagy talks about (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky’s lack of college experience as if North Carolina didn’t disclose
this information on draft day.
So Nagy trumpets one good quarter out of four, or when (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky leads a drive, or hits an open receiver, or gets through progressions, or keeps his poise, or body language is good, or when he sees an opening and runs for a first down.
These are things rookie quarterbacks in the NFL do every Sunday, and David Blough did against the Bears in his first NFL start.
But when (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky does it three years into his NFL career, Nagy talks about him as the superstar they promised he would be.
And when he plays as he did Thursday night, he’s headed for the Hall of Fame.
Nagy has no choice. He must sell (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky so that Pace can keep his job, and if Pace can keep his job then Nagy can keep his job, and if Nagy can keep his job, (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky can keep his.
So they celebrate as if a combination of Joe Montana and Steve Young has just walked through the door.
You should be winning Super Bowls with a guy like that.
The bar is so low for (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky — so unbelievably low — that if he has a single good game, the headlines scream his arrival.
Nagy might, however, want to be a little more careful when he speaks because (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky’s agent is listening, and if you’re to believe Nagy’s praise, (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky deserves Drew Brees money.
Seriously, Nagy is spending McCaskey family money every time he talks about his quarterback and (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky need not work knowing he’ll earn only $4.4 million next season as part of his rookie contract.
Pace will also have at his disposal the fifth-year option, an average of the Top 10 salaries at the quarterback position, but if the QB is as good as Nagy always says he is, the Bears should be talking to (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky about a very large extension as one of the best quarterbacks in the game.
On the eve of his fourth season back in September, the Rams signed Jared Goff to a four-year, $134-million extension with a record $110 million guaranteed.
To hear Nagy is to know (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is certainly worth more than that.
If he’s as good as Nagy says after squeezing past these teams the last month, there should be no question anymore.
If he’s as good as Nagy says, George McCaskey should be sitting down with the QB’s agent and opening the vault before next season because this will only become more expensive for the Bears.
(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky has arrived and Nagy has left, no doubt about that.
There is nothing left for (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky to prove so there is only one thing left to do.
In the words of Teddy KGB, “Pay him. Pay that man his money.”

Bad game eh.. not disagreeing, I have lofty expectations for him.

He had 4 total TD and 2 turnovers with 338 yards.
