I don't like the idea of Fukodome DHing and Ward in right. If Fukodome can't play the field becasue of his calf, then give him the day off. Can't he hurt the calf running the bases? I don't want to see Ward in right.

And Lee, or as some say DP Lee, with another DP.

BTW, that DP earned Lee sole possession of first place for GIDPs this year.

Ahead of your top RBI man, that's not a good thing.

EDIT: Oh, and 18 GIDPs puts Lee on pace to tie Jim Rice's record tally of 36 for a season. Lee also has the fourth most outs of any batter in the NL.

I agree completely about Fukudome. Ward scares me in RF

If I'm Lou, when Patterson gets back to the dugout, I let him know that he's one half-assing a throw back to the infield away from making a permanent return to the minors.

If Edmonds leaves the game, say hello to your new centerfielder for today: Eric Patterson.

Make that 19 for GIDP machine DP Lee.

 Ok, I'm jumping on board the bus to remove Lee from the three-hole. Drop him down to fifth and let Fukudome bat third. I want to keep Ramirez right where he is.

Last month.. at least. When Patterson walked, I was telling a co-worker about how DP Lee was going to get another DP opportunity, and surely wouldn't waste it. What a cocksucker.

He needs to be moved down in the order for awhile.
If he tries to pull another low outside pitch, I'm going to puke.
Move him down to the 6th hole until he gets it going. He has been bad for 6 weeks.

And what else did he do, Contreras walks two guys in front of him, 1st pitch in the dirt and he is swinging. You are right, take him out of the 3rd spot, they have to at this point with him.

Patterson with another stellar play in left. He and Lee are singlehandedly giving this game to the Sox.

I feel for Dempster, a 2.48 era on the road and they cant score runs for him and he has to be perfect. I am calling a 3 run homer for crede here.

You can't feel too bad for him today. That's what happens when you walk guys. The feilding hasn't been great, but he's got to overcome some of those mistakes and keep his team in the game.

I knew they should have pitched him tomorrow instead  .

When he walked the bases loaded, I turned to the same co-worker and said "he's going to hit a grand slam -mark my fucking words."

At least I started Swisher in my fantasy league, so I got that going for me.

At least they only "held" them to seven runs that inning. The nine from last Saturday is still tops in one inning .

2 in a row is just amazing though. It's almost inconceivable how terribly this team is playing. They can't hit, they can't field, they can't pitch, and they can't even hold slow runners from stealing 3rd.

say what you want about sorianos defense on gauging fly balls, but his arm demands respect that they arent giving patterson. his arm and his bat end any argument that the team is better without him.

derrick lee is as cold as they come right now, but there is no way in hell you sit him or punish him by moving him down in the order. the guy is in a slump, and it will end, and he will get red hot and drive runs in all over the place. the knee-jerk reactions on this board are hilarious. last week eric patterson is playing solid left field, getting hits, driving in runs, stealing bases, and lou is getting credited for playing him, now he is having a clunker game, and now he should go to iowa for good.

Sounds like Derrick Lee needs a slump buster, or maybe just a blowup doll.

DP-Lee is killig them right now, so yes, I would push him down in the order, he cant still get rbi's in the 5 hole. The guy has hit into 6 DP's in the last 4 games, its not a knee jerk reaction to want someone in the 3rd spot who can drive the ball at this time.

Lee drives me crazy more then any other player on this team. His whole approach to hitting when he is bad is horrible. If Lou will go out to the mound and get on pitchers, he has to get on DP-Lee for not at least making a pitcher who just walked two guys in front of him throw a strike.

There ya go, a inning without giving up a run, there is a start. If Lo
