The good news, at least DP-Lee cannot hit into a DP next inning.

No, he'll double into the gap.

To me, Crede back looks like it is hurting him still, he doesnt look like the same guy that he was in the start of the year.

Riiight. It's not a slump when it lasts 6 weeks: it's shitty play. This guy is on pace to break the GIDP record set 24 years ago, for Christ's sake.

the knee-jerk reactions on this board are hilarious. last week eric patterson is playing solid left field, getting hits, driving in runs, stealing bases, and lou is getting credited for playing him, now he is having a clunker game, and now he should go to iowa for good.

A runner took 2nd on him two days in a row. Like I said: I can excuse that once per blue moon, but to do this twice in two days is beyond disturbing. Evidently, he doesn't want to play in the majors very badly if he's making that sort of mistake two days in a row. Lou needs to get that message across.

No doubt.

Horrible start by Dempster. Please win a road game sometime this season. D-Lee needs to quit swinging at pitched ankle high, thats how you hit grounders. Patterson needs to go. He plays the outfield like Soriano, but doesn't have the arm to make up for it, or the bat.

Frank's right on with this one. Just like last week when Tampa showed that the Cubs were human and then the Sox backed it up in the very next series at Wrigley. Oh wait, that didn't happen? My bad.......

Great logic, Frank.

Well, at least Theriot continues to be one of the top 2nd basemen....

Hey that's fantastic, I wonder where Aramis ranks among catchers...

For a guy who looks like he is running in quick sand, I cannot believe he caught that ball, but he did nice grab and nice win for the south siders.

I really hate when Fontenot and Cedeno are in the lineup together, and today they're batting 8th and 9th.

Gallagher doing his best Marquis impersonation by getting a 2 run lead in the first, and blowing it right away. What a joke, how hard is it to pitch a scoreless inning after getting the lead.

Ronny and Fontenot suck. A first pitch ground out and a 3 pitch strikeout, they both need to go. Gallagher is horrible today, Lou dropped a few f-bombs on him on the mound. I'm guessing Lou may go off today in his press conference if this continues.

Can you really give out the clutch player of the game in the 5th inning?

And how did Joe Crede not win?

God Fukudome sucks hitting against lefties. All they do is pitch him low and away with breaking shit, but he pulling off the ball with that fucked up swing of his. Lou needs to tell him to not run while swinging against the lefties, and stay closed.

This is a joke. The Cubs hitters are just taking fastballs down the middle against Thornton. Fontenot stood there like a dumb fuck, and had 2 sitting there down the middle. Its a straight fastball, hit the fucker.

In defense of Marmol, Quentin hit a pretty damn good pitch. Somtimes it happens.

Yeah it was ok, but then he walked the next guy again. He got lucky and got out of it. That was a horrible inning by the Cubs. Cedeno really needs to go, this guy is a out every time.

Horrible fucking at bat by Ramirez. Should have been 3-0, but chases to fastballs way inside and hits a weak ass grounder to short, not bringing in the run. Up to Edmonds now.

Horrible at bats by Ramirez and Edmonds. Lou really needs to get Fontenot and Cedeno out of the lineup, those are easy outs.

Lee was the goat yesterday (along with and Demp and patterson) and today, Lee goes 5-5 and Ramirez leaves a boatload on base.

And what happened to Theriot, is he hurt? Twice Fontenot came up against lefty relievers and I expected Lou to go to Theriot at some point, but neither time did call far Theriot. Plus he was batting #2 all year long, but lately he being pushed down the order. Why mess up a thing that is working

strangely enough, the lineup hasnt been the same since soriano left the lead off spot. when he comes back, the everyday lineup will go right back to how it was, and everything will be back to normal.

this lineup is missing soriano VERY much, and he will be back soon. theriot has a hurt hand, and the radio broadcast said he will be back tomorrow hopefully.

i think gallagher showed some stones sticking in there in the last couple innings after a bad start. he has a ways to go, but i think that kid shows some promise.

Did not know Theriot was hurt, one of the drawbacks of watching a national broadcast, i am sure Len and Bob would have mentioned something.

Gallagher is raw, if he can just get a better breaking ball he could be a very good pitcher. By the way he hasn't pitched much worse than Marquis or Lilly lately.
