He's not good. Takes bad angles and jumps/dives for absolutely no reason. Thank God he won't get to cash in that 5th year.

He didn't. Next year is his 5th year and it's only guaranteed if he gets injured this year. The Bears will cut him and save $15M. I would make him inactive just to protect myself.

They did. The option is only guaranteed if he's injured. They'll cut him and save $15M this offseason. They money can be earmarked for better players.

Edit: The 5th year option is just insurance. It gives you another look in the event a player becomes a stud in the 4th year. That's why it didn't make sense for the Bears not to pick up Fuller's option. It ended up costing them a lot more.

Yeah, he is gone of they can save 15 mil. There will be some interesting rush linebackers on the market.

So we can cut this chump unless he gets hurt over the next 3 weeks?

Why wouldn't he fake an injury?

The injury would have to be one that would keep him out all or most of next season. It's hard to fake one of those.

Could even cut Fuller if you wanted to. The Bears will have some money to spend.

He was today and he gets beat deep more than I would like. I'm fine with keeping him. Prince is injury prone and usually allergic to tackling. Did you see his shitty attempt when Jones scored?

Team talks about Floyd the same way they talk about Mitch, it's always, "Floyd/Mitch had a great off season and will take the next step this year", then they out on the field and do not produce. They likely will find as they have at TE that an average competent NFL player will out produce their precious high first round picks for much less money.

Yep. He was right there to cause a TFL and just decided not to participate.

Fuller often plays at a Pro Bowl level. He is also a pretty good tackler for a corner. You would be nuts to cut him. He'd be signed immediately and most likely for a raise. They aren't overpaying Fuller.

If it is down to the corner making the tackle, something broke down much earlier, defensively, on the play.

Take a look at the play. It wasn't some open field tackle. This was up on the line where if he just stands him up, he would have had plenty of help a second later. He bitched out on the play

If the Bears save $15M cutting him, then doing just that should be a no brainer.

Time for Prince to go as well.

That's $23M. Throw in Trevathan's money and the Bears have $30M to play with by moving on from 3 players.

Not Fuller. He's one of the best players in the league.

That, and with the cap rising again, it appears that there will be plenty of money to throw around.

Not really. It means all teams get more money to spend which will drive up the market across the board.
