No. He at least has one successful year. Baby McCown is a bigger bust.

Biggest bust in Chicago sports history at least, that's my take as of earlier this year. Not ready to say he's akili Smith or anything like that. Yet.

Last season made that impossible even just in football. The Bulls had draft picks nearly kill themselves in motorcycles.

The defense made last year possible.

I wasn't feeling well and went to bed at halftime last night. Looks like I made the right choice and did not miss anything constructive.

What a shitshow this turned in to.

Let's start a thread, Frank. When I first made the claim I admitted I couldn't judge baseball and hockey picks. I know for the Bulls we've had quite a few busts in recent history (Fizer, Curry, Thomas, etc) but none came at the cost of (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky. We basically said he's the savior by making that trade and fell flat on our faces afterwards. Not sure if that's happened to other Chicago teams in recent history.

The trade isn't his fault.

Cedric Benson and Baby McCown are bigger Bears busts.

It's probably the second worst trade in Chicago history behind the Quintana trade.

Cedric Benson at least put together a couple decent seasons after he left Chicago. As did Marc Columbo. Not busts.

Mitch lead a division winning team to 11 victories. (Daniel started the Thanksgiving W last year in Detroit). Kevin White, Gabe Carimi, Cade McNown, Michael Haynes, Shea McClellin, Chris Williams, John Thierry, Stan Thomas were all 1st round picks that ended up worse than (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky. I know the QB is way more important than any of those positions, but the trade wasn't Mitch's fault and his 2018 season is better than the overall career of every single player I just listed.

Him being a bust is on the org as much as it is on him. Cade mccown was like the 12th pick or something. Not as egregious. Benson was bad here but you could absorb a RB bust. QB is much more difficult when your QB is bad. Plus with all the other picks we gave up it's not hyperbole to say this whole thing set the franchise back.

The trading up for Mitch is the biggest indictment. It wasn't just a 1first round pick.

That's what is puzzling about these Mitch apologists, our offense sucked last year..the D carried that team..the D is still carrying this team.

Yeah, if we only had those two 3rd round picks back, this would be a ENTIRE different discussion with Mitch right!

It seems like you are just trying to save your bad thought here.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky was a pro bowler last year, which I know isn't a huge deal but it certainly keeps him out of the biggest bust in history talk when other first round picks were worthless for their whole career.

It was a terrible trade but the idea of busts are 99% on the player. We don't blame the coaches for Benson of Baby McCown.

I'm starting to re-consider this thought.

Mitch Trubiski will count 15 million against the Bears cap next year whether he is on the roster, cut, traded, or deported to Pakistan. Anyone who thought Mitch wouldn't be on the Bears roster in 2020 doesn't understand the salary cap.

His recent play and willingness to call out Nagy's play calling are real positive signs.

Showing more command and leadership on and off the field as well.
