Nah this actually started at the tail end of last season. He was playing poorly for awhile.

Every player goes through peaks and valleys. November of 2019 is an outlier of poor performance when look at the splits of his entire career though. October and December of this year are more expected results. We'll see how the season continues, I'm quite confident his shooting percentages are going to continue to improve this year as positive regression hits.

I didn't think I could be any more clear on this.

I'm saying he will finish the season shooting 41.0% or better. If he shoots 40.9% or worse, I would be wrong and I would lose the bet if we made one.

Through the first two months, the Bulls limped to a 6-14 record. Markkanen’s poor play was a large culprit — he shot just 34.9 percent from the field and 28.2 percent from 3. Both those numbers represented the lowest percentages in the league for any player with at least as many shot attempts.

But Markkanen finally started to turn around his season in 14 December games. He shot 51 percent from the field and 42 percent on his 3-pointers and the team also improved its play en route to a 7-7 record in those games.
