Atta boy Buehrle.

7 innings. No earned runs. Crede cost him the unearned run.

Jeez. Marc's ERA is gonna be like 3.75 after this game. That's very impressive considering where it was.

He's been great his last 5 or 6 starts.

That's it for Marc I'll bet. Linebrink will do the 8th.

I was going to say the same thing. Morgan continues to show he is an idiot. He should be removed from the booth asap.

I think ESPN warned him he wasnt meeting his sensationalizing hyperbole quota for the month.

He stated in the pregame that both teams have one of the best bullpens ever. When asked if he really meant "ever", he said "ever". And we'll have the pleasure of watching and listening to him again next Sunday, and the next Sunday, and....

I agree. We're good. But the season is only half way done.

The 1990 Reds was the best bullpen ever.

No worries then. They have the 5,6, and 7 hitters coming up in the ninth. The heart of the order...

Wouldn't the Twins pen from about 4-5 years ago be better than both also?

I know the bullpen has been ravaged of late, but having Marshall in the seventh here is making me nervous.
Oh hell, why am I nervous. I've already seen this movie... :x

And it is not even close. That Bullpen was the best and I do not see there being a better one ever.

Joe Morgan: "This really isn't a road game for the Cubs because they got to sleep in their own beds last night".

I can't type fast enough to keep up with his B.S.

Cubs fans should be happy with Marshall. 7 innings. 3 runs. Can't ask for much more.

My nerves were jangly for no reason. I apologize to you, Mr. Marshall.

Ironic that Marshall puts up the best numbers of the three starters in this series. BIZARRO CUBS! ME WANT EXPLODING SCOREBOARD TOO!

Shit, I'm tired. I should just knock off and go to bed.

Maybe Lee will put the ball in play this inning, and Ramirez get his first hit of the series.

Yeah, this isn't Marshall's fault.

You knew there'd be a rough stretch if the bats went cold, and it unfortunately coincided with the injury to Zambrano. Oh well, it's a long season and all that.

Wow this really is hilarious. Morgan is now saying its the best bullpen ever because they are going with their setup guy instead of their middle and long relief.

It would be funny if the Cubs can come back on the "best bullpen ever" and make Morgan look like an even bigger fool 8)

Well, DLee avoids the DP... :|
But, no worries. Aramis picks up the slack.

Shitfuck.

Great game by the Cubs 3 and 4 hitters. Lee builds on his 5 hits by striking out 3 times, and Ramirez takes another 0 for 4. Also, I'm sick of Morgan showing Ramirez 4 homers from last week, you have shown it 4 times tonight, enough dumb fuck.

Im disappointed Morgan isnt extolling the virtues of the Cubs bullpen by pointing out they havent even used
Marmol yet, their best reliever.

I'll bet Jon Miller hops on the Cubs charter plane to San Fran. He's the play by play guy for the Giants. I'm sure the Cubs will do him that favor.

Nice job Jimmy. He passed Willie McCovey and Ted Williams.

The good news is that we're still in first.
That's the end of the good news.
G'night kids.

Damn Thome. I could use a save by Jenks on my fantasy team

I can see why Trammel sucked in Detriot. Has Cotts warming up to face the lefty Thome, but then doesn't bring him in, poof homerun.

Nice job Sox.

Cubs are still the best team in the NL. They'll get healthy and run away with this division.

I agree. I was shocked he let this kid face Thome when he had Cotts.

It was a 2 run game. Cubs still had a chance.

I wasn't too surprised. Thome has had loads of trouble catching up to fast balls this year, especially good ones.

What the hell. All of this troube for a 3-3 Sox/Cubs split.

Both teams got the sweep at their home parks. So it was great for most of the fans at the games. No harm done to either team as far as their division chances. 3-3 is what it should have been with these two teams.

It was fun. Cubs/Sox is always great. Never better than this year.
