another sign of nagy's dipshittieness that hasn't been discussed is calling that hail mary at the end of the first half from his own 40 with 6 seconds. Everyone, including the DB and WR knew (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky didn't have the arm to get it anywhere near the end zone. That play required a miracle upon a miracle to be successful . I though I was going to have a coronary when the Packers started to return the INT. The risk reward skewed so far to failure, no one is his right mind would have done anything but take a knee and go into the half 7-3.

The 16th ranked team in the league scores 22ppg. If the Bears put that up (yes I know that's not how it works) they'd be 11-2-1

If you took every starter in the league and asked them to get it to the end zone there..I bet everyone of em could.. I know Mahomes and Watson can. Mitch don't have a strong arm..

The Bears defense carried this team last year. Causing more turnovers (for example) helped our offense look better last year.

This years defense hasn’t performed nearly as well in several areas. I personally believe coaching has more to do with this than some people seem willing to believe. Coaching on that entire side of the ball (for the most part) is the largest altered variable that changed from last season to this season.

Some of you seem to to think it’s as simple as ‘offense bad, therefore, defense can’t be blamed for anything’. But the offense was bad last year too, it just looked a bit better because the defense was better. Even this year the Bears have a handful of missed field goal losses that completely changes our playoff narrative. This is why it’s important to realize the difference between a ‘great’ defense (last year) and a good defense (this year).

A great defense can carry a team, a good defense can’t. They’ve regressed, and that isn’t 100% on the offense.

I do not think his job is secure as MANY would think. It really comes down to whether the Bears have superior options that they know they can bring in.

Disagree. Pace and co. aren’t changing anything -Nagy will be back next year and so will Mitch. Pace will go on and on with general statements like ‘we just have a couple of things we need to fix’ and leave it at that. We’re in football hell for at least another season. Then it’s on to yet another rebuild.

Ernie Accorsi will collect a fat check and let the Bears know who to hire.

Doesn’t Nagy get at least a chance with a quarterback he helps choose ?

No. I imagine Nagy had a say in the offensive players they've brought in over the past 2 seasons and Robinson is the only keeper. He would be the 3rd or 4th option in Kansas City. Miller looks great at times but he's unreliable because he can't be trusted to line up correctly or run the right route. Nagy and Pace are bigger problems than (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky. He's about 5th or 6th on the list.

Anthony Miller is finishing his 2nd season. His biggest issue is staying healthy. Outside of that his progression is on the track you would want it to be.

That's why Ted Phillips need to go too. Pace and Fox didn't want Cutler, but to get get their jobs after the Accorsi recommendation, they likely had to say they would keep him to avoid taking a financial hit. So when Cutler flopped, Pace was given a pass. Fox was a disaster just as Trestman was before him. Pace then signs Glennon, another disaster. Nagy is hired, after (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky has been drafted, presumably after assuring Pace that he could make Mitch into a great QB. The whole chain has been messed up because they were too cheap and/or stupid to do a complete fumigation.

Nagy needs to go or has to live with an offensive coordinator calling plays.

Nagy's ability to be articulate and likeable glosses over the fact that he's had a Trestman level of bad season as head coach.

Yeah, there is really no doubt that the Bears would have been no worse off if they had simply made Pagano the head coach. The Bears have zero offense. None. I still can't believe Julie said the offense's main problem was an "embarrassment of riches" because of the number of weapons they had to choose from. Last night, Al and Chris summed it up perfectly. As well as Allen Robinson has played, he'd be KC's fourth option.

3rd option, I think. Kelce and Hill are the only skill position guys they have who are probably better than Robinson.

Nope. Nas is right. We have no idea what kind of quarterback we have given how shitty the personnel are around him. This shit has gone on for way too long with the Bears. They have been big time failures for decades in BUILDING AN OFFENSIVE LINE. Why is that? That needs to go all of the way to the top of the football organization. Fuck this team.

IF the Bears decide to release (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky, so be it. If he goes to a decent team with decent personnel, I think he can be a good NFL quarterback. Maybe trade him to the Chargers or Patriots.

Another thing. I think that if they do fire Pace and decide to rebuild, they should try to trade Mack. Somehow, I do not think that Mack is going to be happy busting his ass watching a horseshit offense flounder against decent teams. Trade him for draft picks, high draft picks. So far, Nagy still has the team playing hard but an unhappy Mack will wreck that in a hurry. Trade him.

Either Nagy or (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky has to go, right? Someone has to. Either get the coach a quarterback who can play his system, or stick with the guy you traded up to draft ahead of Patrick Mahomes and get the right coach for him. But if you keep them together it's gonna be 7-9 forever.
