Tell him life's a bitch and then you die. Grow up. I went to a MNF Packers-Bears game wearing a Favre jersey when I was 10 and got beer poured on me. Shit happens.

Two years ago, I was with a 9 year old boy in a wheelchair who happened to be wearing a Sox jersey (non Cubs/Sox game), we were walking to Wrigley and a couple driunken 20-something frat boys profanely harassed him. He did not need an explanation as he is a Sox fan.

Jerr, I mean Teelander, take your kid to a Cubs game and sit in the bleachers if you want to see what truely classless fans are like.

What's wrong with making under $30K?

Class is something you don't know anything about TeeLander, go fuck yourself.

tell your son this:
99% of the people around you are idiots.
the other 1% are your friends.

also nobody works "in the sewers"
you would die in about 3 minutes if you worked "in the sewers"

Although I won't claim it has anything to do with salary, White Sox nation seemed to be doing their best imitation of "drunk asshat Cub fans" after the game last night. Me now being old(er) and less the instigator, a conversation that I wanted to start that somebody else did while we were waiting to piss after the game....

Sox Boy: Wooooooo. CUBS SUCK!!!!! WE SWEPT YOUR ASS!!!!
Cub Boy: Uhhhhh yeah, but we did the same thing to you last weekend.
SB: Don't live in the past!! We won TONIGHT!! SWEEEEEEPPP!!!
CB: Yeah and now the season series is 3-3. So it's a wash.
SB: Who the F#$%^ Cares??? We swept your ass!! St Louis won too!!
CB: So did the Twins.
SB: Yeah, so what? We're up by 2 games!!
CB: So are we.
SB: Who gives a shit. WOOOOOOOOOO.

It really becomes funny to watch this shit as you become old and bad.

Also was anybody sitting out in Left Center that could give a play by play of the brawl out there? What we could see looked pretty amazing.

There's lots of meatheads on the northside too. As I was leaving the Metro last Sunday nite, they were out in full force. I actually saw a group of lunactics in a yard just off Waveland spraying champagne all over like the Cub had just won a goddam playoff series. These crosstown dealies bring out thousands of meatballs on both sides of town.

I'm glad it's over, now there won't be any more meatheadedness for the rest of the season

Yes, you sox fans have cornered the market on Class!

I could never even imagine walking around Wrigley and seeing a father and his 2 kids wearing sox gear and saying anything to the effect of "You fucking Sox fans, get the fuck out of here"

it was not a singled out incident, it was a common occurance.

So, how do you think I now explain to my 8 year old son why a number of men 21-40, with bad facial hair, mullets and large guts feeling like confronting an 8 year old?

Maybe I explain to them that they didn't graduate from college? now they work in the sewers of chicago for $38,000 a year and live in the basement of their parents house? They are angry men because they don't have a nice house, a cute wife, a nice car, take one or two nice vacations, so this is their oppurtunity to make themselves feel like big men by saying we suck.

stay classy Sox fans!

Tell your son that you should expect shit like this. The world is not a bubble. If you dont like the heat, stay out of the kitchen.

This sort of thing happens everywhere. Every team has a group of fans that are good and a group of fans that areclassless, plain and simple. Should we call all Detroit Piston fans classless because of the one that started the fight against the Indiana Pacers? Should I call all Ohio State fans dicks because someone through a beer at my pregnant wife because she was wearing a Michigan jersey while out watching the Michigan/OSU game last year?
Get over it! This happens everywhere.

Go back and read the first sentence of my post Frank. It was saying it goes both ways.

They are just as bad as some Sox fans. The difference is they seem to be concentrated in the bleachers at Wrigley. At the Cell, there doesn't seem to be a locus of meatballed asshattery.

During Cubs Sox weekend, WrigleyVILLE itself is pretty much piled with asshats.

And thats not even including the parade there yesterday.

Good point. He really comes off as a hypocritical, elitist, classless prick, who's apparently oversensitive also.

I would guess the lifestyle that goes along with such meager earnings, for one. If its the best someone can do-perhaps they are of limited capacity, or perhaps just starting out in a job, thats understandable. For anyone of reasonable intellect and educational background, I would have to believe that such a low level of salary, would suck otherwise.

The behavior that Teelander's son was subjected to, was ridiculous. The fact that someone else might have gotten a beer poured over his head while wearing a Faggy Fudge Packer Jersey when he was 10, doesnt make it something everyone should just accept as somehow normal. Its not okay. It should not have happened. But I do very quickly accept that it likely happens at every ballpark and stadium around, to those who choose to go to another teams home park, while wearing the jersey of the opposing team. Teelander, you have to take a small portion of the blame for having taken the boy to a game in enemy territory wearing their jersey. If you did not anticipate that there would be some comments made as there were, you were naieve.

All this talking shit is pathetic. Who gives a damn if someone else likes one team over another, not a good excuse to harass them. People need to grow the fuck up.

Was that the Halloween night game in 1994 where it rained nonstop? The MudBowl?
