They’ve accomplished something. They’ve made their roster incrementally better. But it’s obvious they aren’t committed to winning at the major league level currently.

You don't give 2 fucks about variables when it comes to Hahn. Listen, I want JR to die as much as the next guy but it's a bit unfair to put JR's stink on Hahn.

It’s not unfair. Hahn has been in charge for 4+ years and has one of the worst records in sports history as a GM. Anybody can trade All Stars for prospects. Hahn deserves ZERO credit for anything until he can at the very least put together a playoff roster. That’s a low fucking bar 5 years into a GM tenure.

No they wanted the fans to think they tried. Big difference

He only accrued some power for 3 years. And it isn't near what he should have.

So it’s my fault for judging his tenure as GM, where he signed his name to every transaction made, because he willingly signed up to be South Side Baghdad Bob? Fuck that. He’s a clown like the rest of them.

I didn't say it was your fault. I'm just asking you to take in some variables when it comes to Hahn. Listen, the more success he has, the more power he accrues. Rooting against him is counterproductive if JR lives to be 126, as we suspect he will.

I’m not rooting against Hahn or the Sox. I would love for them to win a WS this year and all these posts I made look stupid 10 months from now. I’m just judging him by his record, which is fair. You are what your record says you are. Hahn has been receiving a lot of plaudits simply for tearing a mediocre team apart. I’d like to see him build it back up again before I join in on the praise, and he’s had more than enough time. If they don’t compete for the playoffs this year he should be fired.

Cubs took 4 years to make the playoffs. Houston 5 and KC took 6. You want it done in 3

I'm happy with 82 wins. If they don't get 82+ wins this year, I'll get back to you. We have the trade deadline this year and next year's offseason and then another trade deadline in 2021. The consensus has always been for 2021 to compete in a legit way.

How about this? Slow your roll until July 31. It's no hair off your ass.

Nah I’m good. Every team you listed enjoyed a 20+ win jump when they were ready to compete. You’re HOPING for a 10 win improvement. I think that proves my point they aren’t ready to compete so I see no reason not to point that out.

I'm not a believer in Castallanos in the AL Central. He hadn't demonstrated the ability to demolish AL pitching. I'd like him back on the north side, but that isn't likely to happen.

The White Sox have done a good job this year. The only thing they have to do is invest the 2019 money difference between Wheeler and Keuchel into a #4 starter, because I don't trust Lopez. And maybe pick up a RH platoon 4th OF so that Engel is mostly a defensive replacement for Eloy.

92 wins? Seems unreasonable. The core of young guys who are being counted on to take us to the promised land are just getting their feet wet. A couple haven't even shown up yet. I don't know if 92 wins on a complete rebuild in 3 years is unprecedented, but it probably is.

It’s not a complete rebuild when you trade all your major league talent to go from worst farm system to best. That gives you a leg up on what the Astros, Cubs, and Royals did.

Also, 92 wins was attainable next year, but the Sox knew they had an army of Jerry bots to tell everyone that “Cole was unattainable”

It’s a losing mindset.

Hahn has been AWFUL. Trading arguably the most valuable player in baseball should have turned the Sox around a lot quicker. Instead he allowed Boston to dictate terms to him. That got Boston a WS and the Sox didn't get a star.

CAN'T be true. 3 guys splitting DH/1B duties? Not to mention McCann DHing. Just invested 36 mildough per year and you're going to rest Grandal and Abreu an inordinate amount of time?

Nah, ain't happening. An agent is leaking fake news.

They announced the signing of Keuchel. 3 years for $55M with an option year. They've pretty much got their starting pitching pretty well set. Terrific stuff.

Which DH/1B you going to trade? Grandal or Abreu? McCann was limited as DH anyway.

Or, put the the old man back to 3rd and move Moncada wherever?

Nah, ain't happening.

I can see them trading high on McCann. I would be shocked if Abreu is traded but I believe his contract may make him valuable.

Abreu isn’t getting traded. He’s worth more to the Sox than he is to anyone else.

Trade high on McCann? That would have been at the all star break. He came back down to average. I don't think anyone is going to be fooled into thinking he is anything more than average.

Abreu ain't going anywhere. McCann may be traded for a another good closer or set-up guy. They have Mercedes waiting in the wings and he is a hitting machine and decent catcher also.

He's better than average. Come-on. Take a look around the league and take a look at the starting catchers on a lot of teams. It is by far the weakest position in baseball in terms of having even decent two way players. McCann is better than average in both categories and has good value.

Go back to the other idiots on the Cub board. Abreu led all of baseball in RBIs idiot. That is a valuable player on any team.

If they sign a DH, I would be very curious what that means for Collins.

He's right though. You all just wanted the Sox to spend money just to prove that they can. It didn't matter if they spent wisely.

Wrong. I wanted them to spend money on a top end pitcher and start acting like they play in the 3rd biggest market in the country. They failed at that because their owner is a cheap asshole and one of the very worst owners in sports. I was right. Pittmike was not.

I hate Reinny big time. But as a baseball guy, I love what they have done in the last two years. I also have never believed in spending anywhere top money on a starting pitcher. Pitchers are way too fragile to invest so much of your payroll for player who is one pitch away from ruining all of your season. Right now, for example everyone is practically giving the Yankees the championship because of their big name signing. I don't see it. The rest of those guys aren't anything special and they are losing some good pen guys I believe.

It should be a fun season this year with some teams like the BoSox and Indians cutting payroll and the Twins losing some guys also. And now the White Sox have got a shitload of young talent and more on the way. If you're not a Sox fan, that's okay. But if you are, I have no idea why you cannot be happy and optimistic.
