He's pathetic. Utterly PATHETIC.

Who do you suggest?

Baltimore probably has a litany of scouts whose wives probably know more football than Pace does.

So a guy from the Ravens maybe?

Yes every team has bad picks, I get that.

Pace has missed way more often than not on his top two picks. And he has often traded previous draft capital to move up to take "his guy", and said player has subsequently sucked.

His first rounders have been White, Floyd, (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky and Roquan. I would say Floyd and Roquan are definite hits (look at who was taken after Floyd, its abysmal) and (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky still TBD. White was a bust, obviously. So at worst he's two-for-four in the first round. 50% is actually pretty good in the first-round when stacked against the rest of the league.

His second rounders have been Goldman, Whitehair, Shaheen, Daniels and Miller. Shaheen sucks. Say what you will about Daniels but he's a starting caliber player. Whitehair, Goldman and Miller are all great picks. He's four-for-five in the second round...which is way above league average.

Holy shit. What Bears team have you been watching???

Leonard Floyd is a MASSIVE bust.

And Miller sucks too.

Lol.......wow.

Okay

Who would you replace Nagy with as a head coach?

I'll just never understand what impressed the Bears so much about "A guy from the Ravens".

His $800 haircut?

How do you hire a guy who can't even handle PUBLIC SPEAKING????
I mean, Ed Orgeron down at LSU is a better orator than "A guy from the Ravens", and Ed speaks Cajun mumbo gumbo.

It's just embarrassing how EASILY bamboozled Ted and George were for a guy who has to count to 10 just to tie his own shoes.
Bounty hunt yourself.

A new guy from Baltimore who will need to spend years learning on the job. Who will need to take an entire transition year just to get "his guys" in all the positions he needs. Who will take at least a year, probably two, to find a head coach and quarterback he wants and then another two years at least to see through his "vision". All the while you'll hoping he's as good at drafting and signing free agents as Pace.

This is how you wake up in 2025 asking how the Bears haven't made the playoffs since 2018. This is how you wind up in the Circle of Hell in the NFL.

You have to go pretty far past pick number eleven to find a player you'd definitively want more than Leonard Floyd. Laremy Tunsil and Keanu Neal are at best equal to Floyd. Nobody is really outstanding until you get to the second round. Hell, I'd rather have Leonard Floyd than the first two picks in the 2016 draft at this point.

You cant draft guys who dont exist. Bears were on the few teams in 2016 who drafted a good player in the first round. Not a great player, but at least a guy who can start and doesn't make you feel ill.

You're right. Let's keep Pace so he can draft another shitty QB over SEVERAL great ones

And you better go back and do your homework on the 2016 draft.

I'd rather have all these guys right now that went after Floyd:

Will Fuller

Xavien Howard

Jaylon Smith

Derrick Henry (the BEST RB in football)

Michael Thomas (arguably the best WR in football)

Deion Jones

Tyler Boyd

Stop being weird.

Most of those guys were drafted like fifty picks after Floyd. The entire NFL passed on those guys at least once yet you think some bum off the street would've taken them ninth overall?

This bum off the street would have taken Derrick Henry 9th overall. Anybody who saw him run at Bama knew he was a monster.

JGWP...honest question. Yes, we know what Mahomes has developed in to. Do you think that the coaching staff in place (Fox, Loggins) would have been able to develop Mahomes in to this type of player? Given the Fox track record, would he have turned Watson into another RGIII?

If the Bears drafted Mahomes he would've blown his knee out in a non-contact injury during training camp.

Probably.

But my greater point, and it's a narrative that has driven me nuts all year, is that if the Bears drafted either him or Watson, they'd be the players they are today. Watson was ready day 1. He's lucky O'Brien hasn't gotten him killed yet. Fox probably would have.

Mahomes wasn't going to be what he is now unless Andy Reid was coming with him.

Honest question deserves an honest answer:

I, like many, wanted nothing to do with Mahomes. I was wrong. I called him too sandlot. Turns out sandlot is the NEW NFL. QBs who can improvise like him and Jackson are the future.

However, I wanted Watson BADLY, because he was the most pro ready. TWICE as many starts as (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky and stats just as good if not better. It was a no brainer to me. But Pace is the one making the big bucks. Go figure.

As for Mahomes, no he would not be the QB he is right now if he'd had to endure the torture of Fox/Loggains/Pace. HOWEVER....I watched Mahomes VERY closely last Sunday night, and one thing I noticed, that you just can't teach (not even Reid taught him this) is that he just has that "it" factor. By "it" factor I mean, when a playing is falling apart, he finds a way to make it work. When (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky has a play falling apart, well, it just falls apart.

So even if Chicago had drafted him....he'd still be better than Mitch.

I believe that too. And for the record, I wanted Watson back then. I also say, though, that (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky has been given a bad deal with the GM that he has had and the tools put around him or rather NOT put around him.

I go back to a statement that I made a few days ago regarding my belief that Pace is a horse shit GM. Every starting Chief's offensive starter in the Bears/Chiefs game was BETTER THAN every corresponding Bear's starter. EVERY F*ing one. This says it all. He had a shit load of money to use to build an offensive line and a tight end and FAILED. Pace hasn't done shit to improve the offense in his entire tenure with the Bears. They never should have signed let alone Re-sign Massie and Leno and never thought even to draft Long's replacement. He deserves to be FIRED.
