He was so good last year I dont even care.

They make that kick and our entire feeling about this team is different. Even my Nagy angst. They really were the team last season come January, they were just tailor built to destroy the eventual NFC champion and were robbed the chance by a shitty kicker. And I dont even blame Pace, or Nagy, or Tabor...or anyone other than Parkey. They signed the guy to just be adequate and he took the money and ran. Couldn't even be fucked to go practice. I dont know how anyone can account for that kind of thing, at some level you have to acknowledge that sometimes blame can lie singularly on the shoulders of one man.

He simply wasn't all pro. He was still really good.

Cody Parkey outscored the offense in that playoff game.

He wasn’t one of the 12 best Edge players. He was outplayed at that spot by multiple players in his own division, none of whom make as much money. He was good and he was paid as one of the best non-QBs in the league and didn’t come close to returning that value.

You don't honestly believe there are 12 better players at his position.

Terrible thread.

The trading of draft picks and the subsequent drafting of (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is already way way way more detrimental to the Bears than the Mack trade ever could be.

Could be if this year is his production moving forward. But the argument isn’t just position. He’s the highest paid defensive player in NFL; not just edge player.

I do honestly know there were this year.

I do honestly know Za’Darius and Preston Smith were better.

Did you also think (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky was better than Rodgers last year?

Probably at some point I did. Idk how much playing on one leg affected it but last year was Rodger’s worst year as a pro.

Do you think Mack’s situation is similar?

Great thread.

I'll bet Jay Cutler gave out candy on Halloween.

It really shows who knows football and who's a fucking stat nerd. Mack had a good year, if you watched the games. That is why I've never been so sure of anything as I am as Leonard Floyd sucks. He's in the best position of any defender in the league to succeed and can't. The D was solid this year(top 5) and Mack was the #1 reason why.

Akiem Hicks missing 11 games this season definitely did not help.

Let me make this as simple as possible for some of our "special" posters.

You don't make a trade like that and pay that kind of money unless the plan is to win a Super Bowl with that player

So....unless we win a Super Bowl with Mack on the roster ...it will be remembered as a failed trade.

Period

I agree - once you make the deal you're in "win now" mode. However the only reason the Bears will fail to win now is because of (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky, not because of Mack. So really your thread is about (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky.

I watched the games. Mack did not have a good year. Get the fuck outta here with that “he was constantly double teamed” bullshit.

The acquisition and play of Khalil Mack is so not a problem for the Bears. This is dumber than a PittMike LTG thread.

The people "arguing" that it's a problem are not Bears fans. They are probably jealous. Can't blame them.

 jealous? Za’Darius gets paid less, costs no draft picks, and was better this year

This is FF's purpose here. He wants to talk about how great Packers players are because Mack had a down year in sacks.

It’s a fair response to a post calling me jealous. This seems like an odd time to throw that out there.
