Going to a match at Fulham in a few weeks with one of my relatives. Place only seats 18000 as they are doing construction. That's about as many drunk Brits as I can handle in one place. I passed on the match at Tottenham, I wanted no part of that mess.

You know, I gotta admit that Arsenal has officially worn my football-ass out this season. when I first got into "the beautiful game" it was 2012-13 and the first ~6 months were just watching games with no horse in the race. Forcing myself to go though the soccer abstract of a bunch of european/south-american manlets running around having a kickabout. with persistence I eventually got to figure out the ebb n flow of the game while learning who people are, which leads to you being able to consume football-proper en masse.

Then I fell in love with a team I first saw lose 0-1 @Norwich City thanks to a goal from Grant FUCKING Holt and some trademark misses by good ol 5head gervinho. From the onset of the 2013-14 season I made it a point to catch every arsenal game, traditionally sleeping though exactly one game per season for a few extra style points. beyond arsenal I'd often watch early/late/Sunday EPL games and often try to catch Barca and/or Real Madrid whenever possible. I used to call Juventus serie A games "football methadone.". yeah arsenal was as arsenal does, but at least with the annual 4th place trophy you generally handled lesser teams while never really having a chance against the top-4 in the PL or in the knockout stages of the CL. Oh yeah arsenal was perennially impotent, but at least there was a damn respectable floor to curb your all-too-often melancholy at the end of any given week.

Then after 3 seasons of 4th place trophies the EL came via 5th place. Thursday football against scrub teams, hey it's like more carling cup so you can see other players and then instead of going away in jan/Feb you went away in May losing at the final. After abject mediocrity-+ you then see Arsene go and Emery comes in and presides over 22 unbeaten which you then promptly fuck up when you bottle 4th place down the stretch (as opposed to the usual "being good once you know you ain't winning the league" form.you'd see down the stretch from 2010s Wenger teams) this season starts and after a respectable beginning where you look around the league and see that top-4 is quite attainable this year the bottom falls out and you're left reeling as ppl legit celebrate 0-0 draws at Everton.

and now after all these points dropped you write off arsenal vs Chelsea today, pick up.an extra shift at work during the game so you don't have to watch, but then during break you find out they're up 1-0 in the second half. 70'. Then at 80' you go inside to finish.off the shift, but within a few mins when you check the score (as they had reeled you back.in) you see it's 1-2 thanks to Chelsea goals at 83' and 87'. they're literally coming up with new and innovative ways to tear your Fucking heart out. It's making it nigh impossible for me to watch football as a whole let alone make arsenal appointment/event television for me twice a week. sure having to work 6 days a week makes it harder to catch random.games en masse, but i gotta admit that for a couple'a days after arsenal losses like today i.just wanna block them.out of my mind and stay numb until pregame on wednesday, a game I actually figure to be appointment television. I never learn.

But yeah, arsenal has effectively sucked the joy of watching football from me this season. Maybe I gotta have a boot camp of non-arsenal games to cleanse my football pallette, cuz holy shit 95%+ of the football I watch these days is arsenal, and that's seriously bad for your health! I wouldn't wish that upon my worst enemy, let alone me myself and the all seeing eye.
