When the year started, I saw a guy who was not only struggling to read defenses, but he was afraid to roll out of the pocket or run if it wasn't the last drive of a game. He was clearly thinking too much. A clear sign of too many people in his ear and a guy who may not be very bright.

There were clues from Cohen and (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky that they weren't happy with Nagy's play calling and his offense. As time went on (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky took more ownership of the offense and his career and the Bears and (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky looked better.

Despite being handcuffed by his coach and having absolutely the worst offensive talent around him of any young quarterback, (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky played well in the 2nd half. He was good more times than not and his flashes of greatness were somewhat frequent. He showed he can even read defenses now.

The Bears have to get better talent around him or anyone else they bring in. Preferably at least 1 elite talent. Mahomes has an elite offensive line and elite skill players. All of them are far better than the Bears best offensive player. Someone is almost always open. That makes life as a quarterback easier. I think Mahomes is the best quarterback in the NFL, but if he switched places with (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky MANY would view both players differently. Watson has arguably the 2nd best WR in football and a #2 who is comparable to Allen Robinson.

I don't think (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky will ever be great despite the flashes. I think (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky will be a good to really good quarterback for a long time that flashes greatness from time to time. He's not only a guy I think you can win with, but he's a guy I think you can lean on with the game on the line. That late game ability isn't something that you can coach.

Mitch (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky is my quarterback.

I dont think he deserves to be the incumbent starter and have a nobody like Daniel be his only "competition" for the job, but I believe in him long term. His naivete and fear is leaving him. He seems a lot less childlike than he did even this time last year. He's starting look and sound like a pro.

I think he can be great. I think he can live up to being taken second overall. It may take more time though, and while he seems to have bought himself a little reprieve by having a great second half to the season the pressure is on big time. And really, it should be. Let's see how he reacts.

Grossman has only been the other quarterback who was my guy. (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky isn't anywhere close to that. I didn't like Cutler or Orton and it had a lot to do with my love of Grossman.

Agreed. Must draft a QB though to develop for a year.

The Chiefs line has been perpetually banged up until the last two weeks.

I honestly feel that (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky isn't a natural football player and isn't just football slow, but more than a bit fragile due to being overdrafted and poorly coached.

Mitch regressed this year.

He needs to step up big time next season. Time to act like a star. Call your own plays. The coach tells you to shut up and listen? You fire right back at that bald fuck.

Coach says you're coming out of the game? Get your ass back out there.

Coach says stay in the pocket? Roll out and fire the fucking pigskin.

Will Fuller is more comparable to Kevin White than he Allen Robinson.

It's mind boggling that anyone would want Mitch back as the bears starting QB, but good luck with that. I'd like to see what this offense can do with another QB.

The Chiefs have an all pro tackle.

He was drafted in the worst situation of the 3 quarterbacks. The first year was insane if you look at the "talent" around him. Sure, Pace upgraded it from the bums he had then, it still doesn't compare to Mahomes or Watson's elite talent. Throw in Dowell Loggains and Nagy's stubbornness and the kid was set up to fail.

White sucked when he wasn't injured. Fuller looks good to great when healthy.

No he just looks like a guy when healthy and he’s usually not healthy. Kenny Stills is a better WR

Things to use to excuse Mitch's performance:
- Pace has whiffed at TE multiple times each year, on a scheme that needs at least one good TE
- Defenses of good teams mostly adjusted to Nagy and Nagy didnt adjust his scheme accordingly
- Mitch frequently played well in two minute type situations where there were less decisions on both sides
- Charles Leno is about as good at playing LT as Jiggs, and Jiggs is a grandfather

Things to damn Mitch to Ryan Leaf-land
- Mitch doesn't seem too bright
- Mitch doesn't seem too accurate, especially on the deep ball
- On the few occasions where Mitch has time to get to his third read, he is mostly useless.

They should pick up the fifth year, but they need a real QB to compete, a LT in free agency, two decent TE somehow (maybe via a Twitter poll to decide who to target as Pace is clueless), and if Mitch isn't progressing after week 5 then sit his ass the rest of the year to prevent injury and send him on his way.

The offensive tackle situation is pretty hopeless unless they can pull a rabbit out of their hat in the second round.

That was a great second half??

I have tried to be patient with him and I hope he turns out great, but I have no confidence right now in him. But I know he will be the QB next year. Fix the Oline and get him a TE that can really make an impact and then we will know for sure.

They could do worse than having their two second round picks both be tackles.

Or a guard to replace 2nd rounder James Daniels, who is god awful

He's going to be the center again despite being overwhelmed by EVERYTHING even though that's his natural position.

He's too small for guard. What an awful 2nd round from Pace. A center that sucks and the wrong WR from Memphis.

Every expert swore both were steals. I can see the flashes of greatness from Miller but his lack of focus, attention to detail and his body tells me that he will never be dependable.

Miller has elite talent. He would be an All Pro in GB or NO

You have to go OL with those 2nd round picks, right?

He's in the wrong spot too often for Rodgers to trust him. Even something as simple as covering the tackle to spike a ball seems like too much to ask. He's a poor man's Antonio Brown if he focuses more.

I don't know how you don't look at a TE. I would probably throw free agent dollars at the offensive line.

Find your TE later (Kittle, Moreau were mid-rounders).

You have to focus on improving that line.

Nas....your comments weren't too far off, but you lost me at the end saying he's your QB.

Lots of great comments already stated.
Mitch can play NFL QB. The offensive line this year was God-awful. Mitch's head coach and play caller was equally God-awful.

Mitch has the brightest future out of Nagy and anyone on that offensive line, but it's still a limited future.

Many of us need to direct our Mitch frustration at Ryan Pace. He's the one that over-drafted Mitch...that's not Mitch's fault. The Bears problems in order 1. Pace 2. Nagy 3. Offensive Line 4. Mitch.

The reason Nagy calls all those screen passes is that he knows Mitch simply cannot throw downfield without being an interception machine.

Pace has screwed up three QB decisions, going back to Cutler.

They draft a guy who has a lot of raw talent and then they surround him with receivers and TE's who aren't NFL players his rookie year and then give him Dowell Loggains to coach him up. He gets better but not elite talent in Year 2, but he has a coach who gets figure out around Week 11 last year and is too stubborn to adjust. They give this raw talent not even 1 elite player or a competent running game to help with the learning curve. This level of incompetence would destroy most players. It appears that (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky will ultimately be fine.

At no point in his life has (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky been an interception machine. In fact he's looked like Favre fitting throws into tight windows over the past 5 to 7 games.
