i have no info that indicate the bears would be interested, he'll likely not come close to producing to what his contract says he should... but he'd still be a big upgrade over taylor Gabriel as a field stretching #2... would leave miller to continue to work the slot. i wouldnt mind them overpaying and taking a gamble on him.

I think they have shown since his concussion that Gabriel is expendable. I would be looking to trade him by draft day.

I would extend Robinson and still look for another elite option. As talented as Anthony Miller is he has proven that he can't be counted on to do basic things like line up correctly and run the right routes.

so gabriel needs to be replaced because he isnt good enough, he's 29, and overpaid.... who is going to give up draft capital to acquire him? when he will could be a cap casualty and acquired for just money in June?

I'm not sure he would be a cap casualty and he certainly is good enough.

Stop it. No he isn't. There were moments he was the best WR on the team this year. He is a good, proven NFL WR with elite speed.

There was discussion about trading him at the deadline this year. His skills haven't diminished in those few weeks.

so your take then is he can do the job this offense needs him to do? if so why trade him at all and just keep him?

we should expect more from the other starting outside WR. there's no reason why a real NFL offense cant have two 1000 yard receivers, gabriel is not that player and never will be.

No one is giving a draft pick for Taylor Gabriel. He is just a guy near the end of his career.

Agreed. Maybe you can get a 7th round pick swap.

Come-on. His hands are horrible and he runs shitty routes. Yeah he does have speed but face it. On a good team he doesn't see the field.

Miller also has a really annoying habit of dropping important passes and committing really stupid penalties at the wrong time.. and completely disappearing for long stretches as well

I dont understand what Taylor Gabriel has done to turn people against him so much. He lit it up before the concussions got to him. I dont think he's worth much of anything on the trade market, certainly less than Jordan Howard fetched, but he's a useful player.

He is probably gone though. Too much cap savings to be had for a team that needs to rebuild an offensive line from scratch. They have Wims and Ridley coming along, WR is not a huge need. They may draft a burner to fill Gabriel's role if the right guy is available at the right time in the draft.

I attribute his drops and everything else to focus. He isn't a guy who I want to give up on but I hope he matures quickly.

Miller is prone to getting discouraged and frustrated. He is probably the most ambitious player on the roster, he desperately wants to be recognized as one of the top wide receivers in the league despite not having the physical tools or size for it. He puts in a ton of work and plays harder than anyone else on the whole team every down. When he's not getting the ball he gets mad and the wheels come off.

You put him on an offense that likes to feed him eight or so targets a game and all the "focus" issues would go away.

wr not a need for the team with an offense that has zero downfield threats outside of AROB making contested catches... ok

Zero downfield threats? Have you seen how well Miller came down with long passes in the second half of the season?

For gods sake at least watch the bloody games.

The WR corps is the least weak of all of the positions on the team. And that is not because it is a strong area.

Miller is a decent NFL receiver. But he is not a top receiver and he does drop catchable passes.

Anderson signed with the Panthers as a free agent in 2020, reuniting him with his former college coach, Matt Rhule. One of eight NFL receivers with at least 50 catches, 750 yards and five touchdowns in each of the last three seasons.
