Yeah

The place is co-owned by Ryan Hartman's parents...they did the remodel when he was with the Blackhawks, and painted the place red black and white...he got traded to Nashville 2 or 3 days before the grand opening...they spent the rest of the season trying to turn it into Nashville north...it wasn't pretty.

Whoa that’s interesting. Kings and Convicts is going to be building a large brewpub up here in Pleasant Prairie. That would be the 5th brewery in the area.

yes it will.

true.....
1. Public
2. R Noggin
3. kenosha brewing co
4. ?
5. ?

I like Public a lot....R Noggin is pretty good, but both of these places are erratic in what and when they brew stuff. Pick a staple or 2 that are always available and then do your weird shit.

Guess I should have looked in here first. A Brit (Kings) and an Australian (Convicts) own it. Local Lake Forest/Lake Bluff guys.

I'll probably have more details soon. Even if they paid $.10 on the $1, that's still $100million...sheesh.

It looks like they make people call them the King and the Convict.

Rustic Road Brewing just opened a new pub downtown Kenosha last fall. They were in another location and have been around a while. Public just bought a bigger space a block down in downtown and should be a much nicer spot than they have now. They can a couple of their most popular styles and can be purchased at most local stores. It’s not bad. Kenosha Brewing is a bit hidden and not sure if they will make it long term. It is near my work and I never think to even go over there. R Noggin is the best in my opinion but you are correct that you never know what they will have. I try to get a growler once a quarter or so. I live on the opposite end of town now so I don’t make it out that way as often. Kings and Convicts will be #5

Probably my wife’s favorite and I’ve been looking for a few years. I probably just need to go in and ask about it. I’ve not tried it

Old Nation M-43 is an excellent beer.

Have 3 for me...I'm stuck at work until 3.

I'm not sure what I'm drinking tonight, but I'm sure I'll drink a lot of it.

Definitely. One of the best NEIPA's I've had.

Daisy Cutter and probably some hard stuff later on. Perhaps a glass of champagne at midnight. Maybe a cigar as well.

Yeah, M-43 is phenomenal. Double Citra by Hill Farmstead is also a transcendent beer if you can ever get your hands on it. I believe it is the #12 ranked IPA in the world on Beer Advocate. Unless you go to the brewery in Vermont, though, you'll have to trade for it since HF does not distribute cans or bottles. For my money, the Trillium Melcher Street is also a terrific beer. It is juicy, piney, and dank all at once. Not many breweries can produce a beer at that level.

Just cracked open a Pavement IPA by Foam (Burlington, VT).

This beer is even better than I remember, maintaining a beautiful balance between fruity and funky flavors. Really good.

Now I gotta go make some meatballs and school my kids in a game of Sorry!

Awesome beer. My favorite from ON is Boss Tweed (DIPA). Absolutely glorious. Haven't seen it distributed in IL but picked up a 4-pack today while I'm at the in-laws in Detroit.

Was able to visit HOMES brewing in Ann Arbor this week and it was fantastic. Their sour beers were on point. They don't distribute and their take home is pricey but it was so tasty.

Oddly enough, I see Boss Tweed in Vermont pretty regularly. I've been meaning to pick some up, but I just haven't gotten around to it. So many great beers, so little time.

We are good friends with one of the primary owners. They used to live down the street from us. My wife and I were just reminiscing about the bliss of having good friends down the street, walk there for NYE, let the kids play, get hammered and walk home. Everybody safe, everybody happy.

The only thing better at Light the Lamp than the brew is the food.

Yeah. Their food is pretty good. I like that Italian beef sandwich they have.

Had some Cloud Drop IPA by Upper Pass (VT) last night.

It's a nice NEIPA with a decent amount of juice and a slight bit of funk.

Vermonters were hyping this beer up like crazy last winter, though, and the beer just can't live up to its reputation.

If it were brewed by Trillium or Treehouse instead of a boutique brewery with very limited distribution, it would be considered somewhat disappointing when compared to their other offerings.

River Roost's Hello Hello IPA was my beer of choice last night.

I really like the combination of nelson sauvin and citra hops, which this beer puts to good use.

River Roost continues to produce consistently very good brews across every style they're exploring.

Definitely worth trading for their stuff if you're curious about the Vermont brewing scene, which ranks among the best in the country.

Overall, my top Vermont breweries are:

1) Hill Farmstead
2) River Roost
3) Alchemist and Burlington Beer Company
5) Fiddlehead
6)Foam
7) Upper Pass and Four Quarters
9) Frost Beer Works
10) Green Empire

With the Kings and Convicts brewery on the way I bought a 4pk of their Kings Bitch IPA. Meh... it’s just ok. I likely won’t seek it out again unless I try it on draft when they open up.
