If they do bring in a proven OC and he turns the offense around what is the point in keeping Nagy around? Did Pace or George McCaskey call Nagy into their office and tell him to revamp his offensive staff? Kinda hard to "Be You", when your handpicked staff gets launched, hopefully they also tell him to lose the f'n visor.

Nagy is a fuckin coward.

I have ZERO doubt Hiestand walked up to NAGY at some point this season and said, "This shit sucks. Give me a FB."

All of a sudden Holtz was playing FB against SD and Montgomery busts a 50yd run.

Nagy wants to surround himself with YES MEN.

Hiestand wasn't that guy. Scapegoat CENTRAL.

Nagy is TRASH.

What has Dave Ragone shown as QB coach to keep him employed?

Nagy eviscerated Trubsinky during the press conference saying his footwork is shit, pocket awareness is shit, and ability to read defenses is shit.

What does Ragone do?

Pace says he has passion and commitment.

That's it.

So we got that going for us.

Ragone is there to rub Mitch's back when Nagy is screaming at him to shut the fuck up.

I want all of these fucks gone yesterday.

Daniels didn't develop either despite everyone raving about how great he would be.

Hiestand was sold as a guy who would help guys get better. No one got better under him.

Hard to believe a guy who pumped out first-round offensive linemen at Notre Dame is a poor teacher.

Results matter. Even if you genuinely believe that some of the players suck, a quality offensive line coach would have prevented the regression. No one believed that Daniels was a bad player but he's looked like one with Hiestand.

Heard rumors that they asked potential HC candidates if they thought they could work with Mitch and they only seriously considered coaches that were willing to take the job with Mitch as the unquestioned starter. They have coddled and protected him and that has failed spectacularly, time to bring in a fresh set of eyes and totally new approach, you could not possible do worse than the offensive staff did this year.

The only thing Raggone has done is make (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky like and trust him.

Nagy called plays all year last year and this year. The OC firing is hilarious and not a genuine firing. It will be funny to see them try to explain why everything looks the same next year.. but if it’s bad again it won’t matter because they’ll all be fired anyway.

I’m mildly surprised they went this route -but it’s also been predicted by many people since mid season. We all knew Pace and Nagy aren’t going anywhere this season.

Which makes the Nagy hiring look worse all around -Nagy definitely told them he was the guy to bring Mitch along, and he hasn’t been able to. There’s no reasonable excuse to trust Nagy for developing even a solid game plan on offense from week to week let alone developing a QB.

I'm not a college football guy and I've trusted your opinion a few times recently and you've been wrong. Daniels sucks and Montgomery doesn't look like a stud.

I’m not a college football guy either. I just happened to watch a few Iowa St games last year and really liked Montgomery. He would probably be a stud if he got away from Nagy

A coach with balls might give Pace and McCaskey a list of guys to replace the slugs that they gave him to work with this season. Without TALENT, it is futile. Hiestand had to be given the worst cast of characters ever to work with.

That may very well be true. But the real finger (the middle one) has to point to Pace and McCaskey.

It hard for me to harp too much on Montgomery as a back because I think on a team with a decent offensive line, his performance would I believe been a lot better. His trouble is that he really didn't have holes or even creases to run through and didn't possess the ability to cut back ala Thomas Jones.

It's why I quit this franchise in 1987. Nothing's changed.

Bingo. Ragone has been Mitch's qb coach since he was drafted. Ragone should have been the first to go.

You think so? Help me out here. I have a couple offers for him in my dynasty FF league and he’s a hard one to project going forward.

I just think so much more of this is on Nagy.

He chose his coaches.

I'm sick of hearing how Nagys offense is a good offense and if Mahomes was in this offense he'd be just as good. I doubt that very much. Nagys offense is bad. Everyone regressed.

As someone else mentioned, this is just paving the way for a real OC and for Nagy to just be the head coach.
