This is maybe the most obvious move I can remember. Can claim he "brings competition" when in reality he brings none. Also there was a lot of word that the Bears were fans of him out of Oregon.

Didn’t they just fire his old coach?

He'll be a Saint next year. Payton drools at the idea of putting him and Taysom Hill on the field together.

Especially since they can't afford to keep Bridgewater.

I thought the plan was B2B? Bridgewater is going to replace Brees.

Kordell Stewart called and wants to come out of the retirement closet and lead the Bears to 5-11 next year.

It all depends on if they're playing in February again. And whatever Brees wants again.

I think Brees calls it a career and Bridgewater takes his mantle. Especially if the Saints make the dance.

He was no Bobby Hebert, that's for sure.

It doesn't seem like Brees is going anywhere, especially with his spending habits.

If Brees retires it’s Bridewaters job. If Brees comes back Bridgewater won’t be back in NO. I see why he would play the good soldier for a year but I can’t see him doing it again.

My guess is Mariota lands with the Eagles.

Eagles is another attractive spot. If it weren't for Goff that contract to Wentz would be the NFL's worst.

That's what he claims. He apparently considerably over-paid for some very high end jewelry and now wants $9,000,000 in compensation from the guy who sold it to him. He also has an affinity of ultra expensive cars, including a $1,700,000 Bugatti Veyron. (Fun fact: an oil change for the Veyron runs $20,000).

He won the jewelry case. Supposedly they weren't jewelry you wear either. They were pieces designed to sit in a bank vault to diversify where your money is stored.

Isn't this the plot to the new Adam Sander movie?
