Teddy Two Gloves shocks the world and leads the Beloved to a 15-1 record. The one loss coming in Detroit of all places.

Looks like about as easy a schedule as they could hope for. Only three playoff teams outside of the mandatory divisional games, with the only really good team (New Orleans) at Soldier Field where the Bears will have a better shot.

There are some sneaky good teams on that schedule that will be better next year like Tampa Bay, New York and Indianapolis but overall that's a fairly weak schedule. A decent team gets ten wins pretty easily.

That doesn’t seem like an easy schedule to me. The Lions will definitely suck. Maybe the Jags and Panthers too. That’s about it. Colts, Giants, TB, and Atlanta should be better next year

Maybe Atlanta gets to 8-8 but I dont see them improving too much from 7-9 with the same players and same coach.

Bears luckily catch the rest of those teams at home. The scariest of them by far, Tampa, really suffers having to travel to Chicago if its in the second half of the season.

Atlanta’s been heavily injured two years in a row. Eventually luck will even out. Wouldn’t shock me if they win 10 or 11 next year.

The Saints are going nowhere and Tampa is next year's obvious NFC breakout candidate. The Falcons are very clearly the third-best team in that division going into 2020, it would take one hell of an off-season for them to close the gap. Ten or eleven wins seems pretty unfathomable unless calamity befalls one of their divisional foes.

Fix their OL, grab a RB in the 3rd round or so, hope Neal and Jones can stay healthy. It’s a fairly attainable path to 10/11 wins.

Oh yeah just casually "fix" an offensive line. That's not something that takes tons of draft picks and lots of cap space. You do know Atlanta is thirty-first in cap space next year right? Them and the Vikings are the only two teams who project to be over the cap in 2020.

The reason they kept Quinn was because they dont want the new guy suffering through what is going to be a very ugly year. They will let Quinn ride into the sunset with Matt Ryan before blowing it all up this time next year.

We’ll see. Matt Ryan gives you a baseline of 6-7 wins. They turned things around in the 2nd half this year but it was too little too late. I think you’re severely underestimating them if you think 8-8 is their ceiling.

They pulled off a true upset against SF and NOLA but their second-half bounce came against the moribund Panthers (twice), Jacksonville and was capped off by an overtime Jameis pick-six.

They've also got a savage 2020 schedule. They play the NFC North, AFC West and their "reward" for finishing second is a date with the Seahawks. Gonna be a rough year.

The AFC West has one good team

Anyway, it’s a waste of time arguing this much before free agency and the draft. I just wouldn’t write them off as garbage right now. They’re a solid team if everyone’s healthy. I wouldn’t want to catch them in September.

Bears are at a disadvantage on offense against a majority of those teams.

Opponents with better QBs than us:

All NFC North opponents
NO
TB
Houston
NYG
Tennessee
LA
ATL

Not sure:

Carolina
Jacksonville
Indy

TB and TN don’t even currently have a QB for next year and vegan says it’s better than the Bears.

Sad he has let his biases come to this.

If it's Winston then yes he's better than the illiterate (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky. Otherwise I'm fine placing TB in the unknown category. Can't argue with the rest.

I edited to add TN. Winston isn’t better than Mitch. It’s a shame you still don’t understand the most important thing when it comes to winning football games after all these years.

We went through the Winston stuff yesterday. When pressed all you could do is praise (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky for not throwing the ball to the opposite team and commend him for a few good plays in one game. He sucks.

On Tennessee, why so pedantic? If tannehill is back then there's no question Tennessee is the better offense. If he's not then they're unknown.

Pedantic? TB and TN don’t have a starting QB next year as of now. That seems a fair thing to point out given your contention their QBs are better than Mitch next year.

It doesn’t surprise me that you’re not good at reading but I pointed out more positive things about Mitch than that. You ignored that.

Bump the (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky thread if you wanna defend a QB who finished in the bottom third of every important QB stat last year. For this thread it sounds like you agree with my list.

Except for Tennessee and TB you don't agree those teams have better QBs than Chicago?

I’m certain Mitch is better than Jameis. Outside of that, I would rather have Mitch than Daniel Jones and Jared Goff. I agree with the rest of your list but that significantly reduces it and QB play ain’t everything.

Broncos have arguably the strongest home field in the sport and they'll probably contend for the six seed next year.

You have much more faith in Drew Lock than I do.

I think Fangio did an incredible job with a roster that was destined to win two, maybe three, games. They would've contended for the six seed this year had they not suffered some incredibly unfortunate (and suspicious...) losses in the early part of the season.

Old dog is going to make the most of his opportunity to run the show.

I hope you’re right. I like Fangio, mainly out of respect for him dominating us. But it’s gonna come down to Lock and I’m not sold.

I've never been to an NFL game. If the schedule works out, I will contemplate driving to Charlotte for the Panthers game.

Jacksonville will be like a home game.
