Ask North what you want to ask him, Mac. You're a professional and you know how to do a professional interview and hardly need some of the quite unprofessional advice given in this thread. Spewing anger and playing gotcha with people like North may make some dolts on message boards feel better about themselves, but they don't necessarily make for good radio.

Nobody ever challenges North. Never on his show. He just lies and nobody calls him on it. Be nice to see. That would make good radio even though I'm not a pro.

I'll admit right off that I rarely listened to North, but you are right Beardown. He came off as a total jackass, and was really condescending last nite on Tribune Live.

I am not saying attack the guy, but at least call him out on his BS. I just want someone to do it, because he thinks he is not accountable for anything and doesnt have to give straight, honest answers.

I would never tell Mac or anyone how to run their show, I dont know the first thing about that business, but I do think that Mac should meet those same standards he demands from print media, that should be a given and I am sure Mac wont disappoint.

With all due respect, Beardown, I'm not sure your definition of "gotcha", good radio" or "jack ass" are definitions all, or even most, of us share.

I think the one question that should be asked is "expalin to us why you think you're show was a great hit", give us proof that it was". Thats all I really want asked, because hearing him say he went out top and his show was great, I just want him or anyone to explain what I am missing.

I'd be surprised if there is much in the way of "hard-hitting" questions. Assuming it follows the usual format, the 3 man round-robin questioning eliminates logical follow-up since each participant already has a question in mind when their turn comes up. Further, North's uncanny ability to respond with non-sequiturs along with the rehearsed "humorous" questions which Harry throws out will kill any straight-line questioning. My guess is that Mac will begin with be a couple of "tough" questions which North will deflect and the rest will be bashing of radio management and friendly reminiscing. That said, I will definitely be listening...hoping to be proven wrong.

I think we already know his response to the battle with Mike and Mike - they are a brand name.

Mac won't ask anything hard hitting; his policy has always been to be professional, and now that you may need that person for another interview or help in getting an interview. He has said this on many occasions, and I can't see him veering from that position.

Now.. what could he want from North in the future? Don't know, but Mac is not going to burn a bridge for five minutes of making someone squirm.

just keep the pressure on him. dont let up on the gas because of your off air friendship. the guy was an ass on the radio for God knows how many years, give him 10 minutes of hell in return

You guys act if there is a going to be a linching here. What axe does Mac have to grind with North? Did the guy miss a game winning field goal, blow the save in 7th game of a World Series, miss the winning 3 pointer?

He's a sports radio host who was asked not to return and if that gives you guys a hard on to ask Mac to take shots at the guy then all need to get fucking lives.
