I'm sure every Denny From Dundalk is gearing up with how the Ravens need to replace Lamar Jackson with Nick Foles because Foles knows how to win.

No, but Lamar does have to improve his passing to prevent teams from keying on his running ability. Foles inability to keep his starting gig in Jacksonville exposed him as more of a game manager/system QB.

Absolutely correct.

I guess I’m just not far enough removed from the MANY loud voices adamantly saying Lamar Jackson needs to play WR to be successful in the NFL.

And he’s being criticized for it just like every other QB would be . Not because he’s black .

Criticism is perfectly fine. I thought that he would be the quarterback we saw yesterday all season but I was wrong. He ended up being the MVP. People are celebrating like they did when the Patriots lost. I'm not sure why but it's odd.

Funny I saw the same celebration last week when Brady / Belicheck lost . People like to see front runners
lose. Especially when they’re told all year how great someone is ( even when in fact , they were great ). It’s spiking the ball seeing a favorite lose. It’s like watching the Yankees lose and be happy about it .

The Patriots are entirely different beast. Fans have been rooting for their downfall for 2 decades because they've had success. Brady is still the GOAT despite taking a step back. Belichick is still the GOAT.

The Lamar Jackson hate appears to be personal. He wasn't universally hated like (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky prior to the game. If so, I could understand fans and the media dancing around saying "I told you so".

You were awfully quiet in the Titans/Pats thread last week.

Yeah no one is saying that . Put it this way . I can think of a dozen pitchers who aren’t nearly as good that id want starting a playoff game for me besides Clayton Kershaw .

I think people didn't believe Lamar could improve his passing ability and his athletic ability would be wasted at qb because of injury; lot of people thought the same about Tebow too. Lamar is that much of a freak athlete that he could have turned into a Hines Ward or Randle El receiver. I hope he gets better at passing because I don't want him ending up like RG3.

Lamar Jackson just finished his 2nd season and is younger than the top incoming rookie QB. Settle down.

Gannon was 90 years old when he became MVP. People rightly celebrated an MVP season that surprised everyone except Jackson's family. That ALWAYS happens in sports.

Tannehill has NOT thrown for 161 yards combined in 2 playoff games. No one with a functioning brain would say that he looked like an MVP.

He did that this season. He had like 40 touchdown passes and 5 interceptions.

He led the league in passing TDs and was completing passes at a 66% clip in 2019.

It would be awesome for the league if he improved on those stats.

He made the few plays that he had the opportunity to make and he didn't make costly mistakes. Based on that you can say that he looked better than Jackson.

When you keep him in the pocket and get rush from the outside, he needs to develop pocket presence and the ability to move around in there. He has a unique ability to make plays outside the pocket, creating passing windows because defenders are aware of his running ability. I'm sure if he works on that this off-season, it won't be the same result next postseason. He has a lot of potential, way more than (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky, but just needs to improve upon it. He was the MVP this year, but his weaknesses were exposed by the Titans.

These were his pocket passing stats through week 12.

https://www.nbcsports.com/washington/ravens/one-metric-rates-lamar-jackson-best-pocket-passer-nfl

Him and his team had an off game. They hadn’t experienced losing in 3 and a half months.

Prolly just came in over confident, and played a hungrier team with a mountain of a RB.
