They have to get rid of (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky. Nobody is gonna watch this shit another year. He's a slightly better Tim tebow. That's it. The players are going to quit on him.

Why would any Bears fan trust a guy who picked the wrong QB out of 3 to somehow now pick the right one?

Going to be a loooong year.

Not to mention the fact that other teams are able to find and develop TE's and Pace's TE draft picks and FA's get outplayed by street FA's and UDFA's. This group struggles mightily with self scouting and player development, and that does not bode well for the future of the team.

There was really no way to foresee what happened to Burton. The Shaheen pick was bad, but the rage thrown over it is absolute out proportion with what a reasonable reaction to missing on a second round pick should be.

When you miss on so many offensive players, you reach for the offensive players and better players are drafted after, you will get beat up.

Missing so atrociously on both in one offseason is note worthy.

For the record: he was a 3rd string tight end. When I pointed this out it was dismissed (even by FF) but the point still stands.

Yeah I was wrong on Burton. Thought he would be good.

He had a nice 2018.

The mental side isn't there.

Part of scouting is to find the guys who really love football. A guy like Charles Tillman is the oddity as the guys who don't really love it tend to opt out when the going gets rough

Anyone else think Jack Conklin is the big FA the Bears should be going after?

Will Massie or Leno play guard?

Idk, but they need to upgrade at least one of the tackle spots this offseason imo.

I would say both. Because of dumb extensions a guard is likely to be the best we will get.

Yes, but Conklin is young and good.

I said this before, but if the Bears go into 2020 with Leno and Massie as the starting tackles, you might as well Tank for Trevor.

yep.....I've been saying the same thing. 2 new Tackles need to be on the roster for 2020. At the very least, they can provide depth. Leno clearly sucks. Pass blocking and run blocking.....epic bad in 2019.

The cap hits make it very tough to just cut both. They have to upgrade at least one of the tackles though. The best case scenario is probably to sign an LT, draft a RT, make Leno or Massie your backup OT, and cut the other one.

The cap logistics seem to only allow one big free agent tackle to be signed.

Bars is a better guard prospect than Massie or Leno, he had a second round grade before he hurt his knee, they may take a look at him at RT. A backup journeyman outplayed Massie last year. LT, QB and TE are glaring needs, maybe upgrade one in FA and use second round picks on the other?

I would go hard in free agency and clean up the rest in the draft. Not sure I would take a quarterback in the 2nd round unless someone great fell or I knew that I wasn't going to bring (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky back.

Bears have to use one of the 2nd round picks on the best TE available.

OL depth with the other pick.

1a. TE
1b. OL

I’d take a QB in this draft, but I’m with Nas. If a QB prospect is dropping to the second then maybe I’d consider it. Don’t think I’d trade up to get it tho.

But I’m not Ryan Pace.

I'd definitely use my 4th on a QB.

I would argue that a really good TE is the biggest need. The offense doesn't work without a good one.

I completely get the need for TE, but without better OT, the ball will never get to the TE.

One Tackle in Free Agency, one Tackle with the first pick in round 2. Take a TE with the second pick in round 2. If they pick a QB in later rounds...that's fine.

Jacob Eason and Kellen Mond intrigue me.

Both inconsistent, but both have NFL arm talent. Not sure about Eason’s mobility, but Mond can execute RPOs no problem. I think they can develop in Nagy’s system.

Idk if they would be there in the 4th, but if they are there in the 3rd round I’d consider moving up to get one of them.

I’m with you, but I don’t think the order in the second round matters all that much since the picks are so close together (43 and 50).

Whether it’s TE or OL, I’d take whoever is the higher grade in your draft room with the first 2nd rounder.

I agree with BigW. 2 tackles and TE has to be focus
