RUN FOOTBALL IS BACK IN THE NFL.

Titans in back to back weeks have beat the defending champion Pats and the league MVP QB with 83 and 71 yds passing.

The 49ers are hosting the NFC championship because Kyle Shanahan RUNS the ball with Coleman, Mostert, and Brieda for 4qtrs.

Meanwhile, Matt Nagy is sitting on Ryan Paces bean bag chair working on the latest and greatest in 2yd bubble screen passes while Pace rubs his feet.

I can't disagree.

A guy like Kyle Shanahan probably laughs his ass offat a clown like Matt Nagy with his head buried in the sand on Sundays calling one stupid 2 yd pass after another.

Shanny gets it. Let his band of RBs shoulder the load for 4qtrs and enjoy life much more. Shanny probably party's every night knowing he has NOTHING to do on gameday.

Keep it simple.

RUN THE BALL. EAT CLOCK. WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS.

I think Pace is hard at work scanning the field at the College of Dupage looking for sleeper o-line picks he can snag in the second round.

This is unbelievably true.

Only difference is, those teams have competent QBs.

The other difference is throw the ball downfield. Don't win games by throwing 2 yard passes to Cohen.

49ers drafted proven guys from big time programs, built the team with high pricks on both lines, and used second day picks for guys with college success that slipped down in the draft behind the combine heroes that goofs like Pace get suckered into drafting. The league has left Pace/Nagy behind, they still think it's a horizontal passing league where you draft petite fast LB's and don't need a SS, but teams have discovered that physical OL play and big physical RBs cause the combine warriors to tap out after they've been knocked on their ass a few times. Raiders exposed Bears D by doing this all game long, the legendary Eddie Goldman got pancaked several times and Roquan Smith played the part of the 6' 215 LB getting run over by large angry offensive lineman perfectly. Nagy's finesse approach to NFL football is outdated and he will have a brief tenure as HC if he doesn't recognize this and evolve. Doubt if Pace will ever change his belief that it's better to outsmart the league and draft guys from small schools with great combine numbers over proven college players from power conferences.

Yup, high pricks are highly valued in San Francisco

As long as they rise to the occasion.

The 49ers run the football because they have so many high draft picks on their OL who they have kept together for years. Same is true for the Titans. Packers probably to a little lesser degree but their OT are both high draft picks. Chiefs are a bit anomalous.

As competent as each may be at running the ball, only one is starting a high draft pick at RB.

Also, all of these teams built their line from the tackles in, rather than the center out, which is the opposite of the Bear.

I would also take any one of these teams QBs over (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky. A lot easier to run the ball when your QB is competent and other teams worry about you throwing the ball.

I'm not sure I agree. Garropolo is (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky but with good YAC.

Tannehill has been good at what they ask him to do but I'm not sure about him.

The other two are all world

Tannehill is not a long term answer in Tennessee, but right now he is definitely way better than (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky. I would also take Jimmy Garropolo over (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky any day of the week as well.

Survivorship bias, but all 4 QBs were able to convert 3-and-long situations. Can't be a running team without that ability.

The two best QBs are Rodgers and Mahomes, probably gonna see em in the SB. Gotta be able to throw deep from the pocket.

Whenever some hot shot, bald, visor wearing, cutesy play caller walks into the building acting like he's The Big Cheese....you throw these 2 paragraphs in his face and tell him to go pound salt:

" Since 2000, the Bears reached the top 10 in rushing attempts for a season seven times. They were a combined 73-39 in those seasons, making the playoffs four times. In a span of 20 seasons, the Bears had a winning record just once when they didn’t rank in the top 10. That’s a pretty glaring stat.

People criticize Mike Ditka for how he handled his offenses during his tenure in Chicago. Some of that is fair. However, the man at least understood the Bears’ identity. They ranked top 10 in rushing attempts eight times under his watch. Six of them ended with winning records. The one year he got consistent quarterback play? They won the Super Bowl."
