I will bet the Sox don't finish six games behind the Twins.

I'm still at 82-83 wins. The Twins had 101 wins. I don't see that happening again, but I also don't see them slipping under 90 wins.
The Sox getting 83 wins is a drastic improvement that would give me a lot of optimism for 2021. They're going to hit. Their pitching will be better. Their defense.....that may still be a problem.

I would be absolutely shocked if Minnesota wins 90 games. Vegas has them at 90.5 and I will be going under.

I bet they don't either because 6 is VERY specific.

right
I'm not entirely up on how many players the Twins lost in free agency, but I don't believe they lost a whole lot.

I'd still pick the Twins to win the Division, but no way they win 101 games. I'd bet they still finish 6 games or more higher than the White Sox.

How about this- I will bet the Sox don't finish 6 or more games behind the Twins.

The Twins are also not going to hit 467 home runs again this year.

Twins just helped themselves significantly with the signing of Josh Donaldson. I was hoping that he'd stay in the National league. Oh well, this really should be a tough and exciting race. Who could ask for more?

Wonder if the Sox will call up the Rockies and ask them about Arenado? It wouldn't surprise me if they do. They would have to re-work his deal, though and that will cost them some money but I think that he is the best 3rd baseman and moving Moncada back to second base would absolutely give the Sox without a doubt the best line-up in all of baseball. We will see. :bom: :bom: :bom:

Do you mean, Arenado? Only way I make that deal is if it is some package of Vaughn and Madrigal, and he can not opt out.

Yeah, I corrected this in a later post. Yeah, they'd have to re-do his contract and this will involve money being spent. And yeah, the deal would probably involve both Madrigal and Vaughn and possibly a young pitcher.

As long as it doesn't involve Cease or Kopech, I am fine. I am 50/50 on that 2nd rd pick and Steiver. I kinda would like to see Steiver though, and don't know too much about that 2nd rd pick.

Hard pass on Arenado. He is not great away from home, decent argument could be made that the guy we have at third now is better.

If they are going to trade Madrigal and Vaughn they should do it for Betts. Even if its just for a year, imagine what a year it'll be.

No way for a 1yr rental. No way he signs an extension, he is 100% gonna test FA. But I agree, you gotta go for a better hitter in RF if you are gonna trade those 2.

Normally I'd agree with you but Betts is something like the third or so best player in baseball. The only guy definitively better is you-know-who.

You get Betts with the Yankees in your sights. It's a move that signals you intend to win it all this year, and seeing the turmoil brought upon the Astros it looks like the AL is quickly becoming a one-horse race. This may be the best shot the Sox get.

The Wsox trading for Betts is insane. Nowhere near competing to win it all even with him.

Gotta agree, not sure the Sox have the pitching staff to win it all. If you add Betts to next years team, I might agree.

Arenado would hit a ton in Chicago and is a truly great player. I would not give up those two guys for a one year rental of Betts No way. Not with the way the building of this team for the long run is going.

I don't agree about Betts for a rental plus I think that Arenado is a better player over-all than Betts it is just that he plays for a small market team and he plays a more valuable position and is the best defensive 3B in all of baseball.

Still waiting for the Twins to add a quality starting pitcher.
