At least Mac's team wins a title when he decides to take the day(s) after off...

What's the deal with Parkins? Is he sick? Is he being a Clemson b*tch?

On Monday, Mac said Parkins would be back tomorrow (Tuesday), so I'm assuming an illness.

Wow. Some listenable score sports radio without Parkins in the afternoon. The upgrade without him is obvious.

Mac seems much more comfortable driving the show minus Parkins. It makes for better radio. I'm not sure he would have the energy or desire to do it full time anymore.

Parkins didn't get his wife a nice gift and she kicked his ass.
Parkins didn't get his bookie the money fast enough.
Parkins has been suspended indefinitely
Parkins is quitting
Parkins has the flu

Something weird is going on. Mac brought up his age several times on the air this week. It's like he's burned out and ready to throw in the towel. Parkins and him had dinner recently to "clear the air" about something. Not looking good.

Wow not even two years in after he pulled a Mike north (not really) and forced his way back in the mix he's burnt out? Shocking... not

With the stock market flying high, Parkins looked at his trust fund and said fuck it. I don’t need to work anymore.

Thanks Trump.

It's not his age. It's the shitty dopey partners he keeps picking. His last 2 partners are like idiot eunuchs or something.

Still think the "Score Emeritus", concept could work. Keep a regular host and rotate in some of the score veterans to fill in during peak times. Mac could do a few days a week during football, Terry a few during baseball, could even bring in North from time to time. The sad fact is that the station has not been able to identify/retain talent that capable of doing three hours of entertaining sports talk consistently. Summers should be easy with the built in 3-6 hours of content from Cubs pre/post and play by play.

How old is Mc Neil. He has to be approaching 60. Those milestone ages create introspection in some.

Yeah, it must be tough to be engaging for a few hours a day. Jesus Christ...

I think he has mentioned it on air and here, but he needs to keep working at least a few more years to help solidify lifetime care for his autistic son.

I went to look up Mac's age and interestingly found that while there is no Wikipedia page for Mac, there is one for Matt Spiegel! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Spiegel

Not sure where or if you work, but somewhere in life you must have run into the person that had been there done that professionally and was pretty much counting days/hours until they could retire. These people sometimes still bring their A game, but most days they just want to get through so they can pursue the more enjoyable things in life that a lifetime of hard work has earned them. Have a few I work with right now and they are fountains of knowledge, but must be approached in the right way.
