It is legal to steal signs. It is illegal to use technology to do it.

I loved the quote by Mike Minor in that article about Alex Cora, the little shit head weasel talking about Cora's insult of Minor. Love it when shit gets turned around on assholes.

There's a reason for the politics section.

That's true. When Trump gave the sign for Mike Flynn to steal second base, a whistleblower told Shitty Shiff that he saw it and had video evidence. Flynn's problem is that he took the bag and wouldn't give it back even after Comey had federal agents come to his house and arrest him for the crime. :eye: :eye: :eye:

That's a doctor- priveledge scenario, I'd bet 85% of the league have" ADD" and get Amphetamines.

Mike Fiers was wrong to blow the whistle on the Astros, says internet darling Jess Mendoza.

She would have preferred Fiers used the information to maintain a competitive advantage.

“I mean I get it. If you’re — if you’re with the Oakland A’s and you’re on another team, I mean heck yeah you better be telling your teammates, ‘Hey look heads up if you hear some noises when you’re pitching this is what’s going on.

“But to go public? That didn’t sit well with me.”

That's one aspect that still doesn't makes sense. If everyone knew, or had a sense, that the Astros (and others) were doing this, I'd think there would be effective countermeasures. For example, if you switch the signs a few times and the batter steps into what he thinks is a curve but gets smoked in the chin by a heater, I think he'd be hesitant to trust any future signals. But who knows.

Speaking of the Cubs, we all know Baez at times looks like he's just guessing -- he'll just swing at a pitch regardless of location, as if he knows he's unable to pick up the pitch as it's on the way. Can't remember if this was more of a home field phenomenon or if Baez is like that all the time.

That's what Farquhar and Kevan Smith did when Farquhar figured out what was happening.

This is the second time the Mets have hired and fired a manager before he ever managed a game!

And this does not do one thing to change the perception that MLB is across the board dirty. All they seem to be good at is shooting themselves in the foot.

It's also the second time that Beltran caught looking has doomed the Mets.

These penalties are over the top. Every team is cheating or trying to cheat in some way.

No. This is how you stop something if you actually want it stopped. Carlos Beltran and his $485MM in lifetime earnings will be OK.

Carlos Beltran is "stepping down." He hasn't been suspended as of yet.

If this is serious, I just hope they go full bore, including the screwing around with the baseballs.

I'm pretty sure the owners mandate the screwing around with baseballs.

What about all the players who cheat? Is one advantage bigger than another?

not sure what you are talking about. eveyone plays with the same ball so I wouldn't call that cheating. individuals who cheat should be punished as well.

Quote:
A day after breaking the news her uncle was stepping down as the Mets’ manager, a Twitter account which claims to belong to Carlos Beltran’s niece is throwing a pair of his former Astros teammates under the bus.

The account, which ESPN’s Marly Rivera reports does not belong to a member of Beltran’s family, tweeted that second baseman Jose Altuve and third baseman Alex Bregman “wore devices that buzzed on inside right shoulder from hallway video guy” on Thursday, according to screenshots of her private account from Jomboy.
There are a shit ton of links to videos, tweets, etc in that nj.com link I posted. This is insane.

You can either have the World Series ring and the hammer, or you can walk out. You can't have both.

Altuve makes sense. No talent midget that came out of nowhere to dominate MLB? That stuff just doesn't happen.

Marly Rivera turned out NOT to be Beltran’s niece, but still people are gossiping about this pretty heavily.
