Outside of the traditional AZ and FL destinations, TN has been hot for IL refugees. I am fleeing to cheese land in five years. Denver has taken in lots of folks too.

But if you tax people more the state gets more money!

Someday I'll be voting with my feet.

Good riddance to you all. Hopefully we figure out a way to declare B/K and stiff any out-of-state pensioner.

Cost of living in Denver and it’s surrounding suburbs is continuing to increase.

Wisconsin is a fall back option for my wife and I.

Anyone who roots against Illinois is a first-order shitheel and doesn't belong on a message board about its sports teams.

With the low income residents of Illinois. Oh, the humanity!

You do realize MANY within the state actively root against Illinois?

Blue states are losing people fast, high crime, taxes and poor fiscal shape.

Awesome. I've lived in five other states for job reasons. Nothing holds a candle to the Land of Lincoln. I'm dying right here.

Yeah, Madigan sucks, he's a piece of shit, everyone knows that. I still want only the best for the place I'm from.

That’s unfortunate, because Illinois needs to be set on fire.

I thought that was Lake Geneva?

I want the best for my friends and family.

Allegiance to a state is tribalistic and weird to me.

I understand and accept MANY in our society haven’t grown past that tho.

What is it with people from Chicago that they're so happy to have been born there? I meet so many people who can't wait to tell me they're from Chicago and when I meet them, they're living anywhere but Chicago.

You wouldn't understand.

I'm not sure I quite unnerstand, is this sort of like people that don't live in Chicago complaining about Chicago?

Denver has gotten very expensive housing wise. It has a great climate and is close to lots of outdoor activities.

As I have said in the past, I love the Midwest because it has the best people. I have strong ties to Illinois but the state has gone off the deep end on every governmental level. If the progressive income tax passes, I will work from home in Central Wisconsin in 2021. They are not taking 10% of my salary. Regardless I am selling my Illinois properties in 2024.
