Big road win. Playing 5 against 8 all night. If this is the way Big Ten games are called it's not surprising that home teams are 23-4.

Also, I get irrationally angry whenever I see Robbie Hummel or even hear his name. Kid was in Assembly Hall every damn day and of course the Illini are too dumb to know he's better than anyone they're recruiting.
Hummel's dad played tennis at Illinois and his grandfather was a professor though.

Maybe that's why I was mixing them up. I was definitely thinking of Cardinal though. Still, both of them make me irrationally angry. Illinois always gets their ass kicked by guys they think aren't good enough to wear the orange.

This season really seems to be setting up for needing to win one game in the conference tournament to make the NCAA. I like the Illini chances under those conditions.

Going to be interesting to see how things shake out. There are a whole gaggle of teams that can beat anyone or lose to anyone in the conference.

Got some damn tight rims in Champaign.

Rutgers plays pretty good defense.

Nice win. that's the kind of game they lost the past couple of years.

Kofi just schooled another highly regarded big man. 11pts/17rebs

JORR still has a fighting chance.

Why is Ron Harper Jr. playing at Rutgers? What is that connection?

Not sure what they might have to do to Kofi for the refs to blow a whistle. Big Ten road game.

He also throws people around to rebound.

Painter needs to recruit some muscle instead of the poor man's Rik Smits.

I rarely bet sports but Illinois +7 was like stealing.

Dominating conference win on the road. That's what good teams do.

7th best team in the Big Ten https://kenpom.com/ good enough to make the play in games for a 12 seed.

Well they already beat Wisconsin in Madison. So maybe they are a bit better than 7th. But who needs head to head records anymore?

They spanked Michigan too. And they should have beaten Maryland on the road.

I pretty much gave up on then after watching the first half of the Miami game during a holiday party. They've bounced back nicely. The game in Evanston should be fun.

Underwood certainly has a knack for recruiting.

Purdue has been on a roller coaster this year. Absolutely destroy Michigan State and Virginia. Get swept by Illinois.

They go through long stretches where they can't even make layups. It's been one of the more frustrating years I've ever watched. They should be much improved next year at least.

All about match ups. Illinois is a bad match up for purdue.

But that is the story of the big 10 right now. Any team could beat anyone in the country right now and the next night lose to a lesser team and look bad

Ayo might just return after all next year. Looked at ESPN's mock draft board and they had him 81st on the board. Can't see him going if that's truly the case. If he returns and Adam Miller actually signs then Illinois might be top 10 next year. Not bad for a program left for dead only a year ago.

That is classic Purdue. Always great on defense, but struggle on offense unless they have a really dynamic player who can create his own shot. That’s why missing the Final Four with Carson Edwards was such a guy punch even beyond how the game ended.

Maybe under Keady. Offense has been a strength at Purdue for most of Painters time.
