Listening to the 10th Inning on the "SCORE" last night, it appeared as if Joe Borowski was dealing and Ed Farmer wasn't sure that Alexei Ramirez's ball was going to go into the seats for a game tying homer with 2 out. It sounded as if #10 flied out to end the game, but it muscled over the fence at the last moment, exciting the fans that stuck around. Then, when DeWayne Wise singled & stole second, it kept the game going, and Orlando Cabrera chopped it just far enough to get a sliding Wise past the Grady Sizemore throw to win it. I'm wondering who gave Wise a shaving cream pie as the Jenny Jones-looking Kerry Sayers from Comcast SportsNet tried to interview #31 on the field right after the game...I thought Kerry was going to get one herself.

Ramirez hit a towering shot. He hit the ball hard. The only reason it was close is because he hit it so high.

Nice job by Contreras getting out of troube in the 1st and 5th. Loaded the bases in both innings but only gave up 1 run each time.

It's still sucks to see him strugling in recent starts. Through five he has at least minimized the damage.

I think there are plenty of guys on this board that would love to give Kerry a cream pie.

I didn't expect a win tonite. They never win on my birthday. Last year, Buehrle threw a gem and Bukvich came in and blew it.

Brian Anderson cannot hit a breaking ball. Its a mathmatical impossibility. So what does CC do? Hangs him a fastball over the outer half of the plate.

I love this game.

This Jenks thing is a little concerning. If he is hurt, they may have a problem. The bullpen has been so solid because everyone has their role. Linebrink is not a closer--he showed that tonight. He might be able to get the job down every once and a while. But, the Sox need a healthy Bobby Jenks to even think about winning the division, much less contend for the World Series. There was not a whole lot of information given during the brodcast (thumbs down to the brodcast team). If he is hurt, this needs to be addressed. There are only maybe 5 lights out closers in the league--not having one makes this team very ordinary.

Yeah I know that. I was saying are you sure about that, after he gave up the tying bomb. Something must be wrong with Jenks if they have skipped him the last 2 nights.

Jenks has some back pain so they are letting him rest.

http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd ... p&c_id=cws

With more wins come more save opportunities. And with more save opportunities comes the overworking of closer Bobby Jenks. White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen has given Jenks three straight nights off to rest some soreness he's been experiencing on the left side of his upper back, just underneath the trapezius muscle.

There was no use for him Tuesday nite. Tie game in the 9th and going into the 10th is not the time for Bobby Jenks-- at least not at home.

Jenks or no Jenks, the Sox swept the Tribe and thats all I care about.

Actually it's a very good time for him. In an extra inning game the home teams closer will not have a save opportunity so you want to get your closer out there to throw a scoreless frame and give your team a chance to win it.

I'm very concerned about Jenks' lack of velocity. I hope it's just a sore back and nothing else.

Anyone think Adam Russell could work into the closer role for emergency purposes? How about Thorton?

Jenks has worried me for sometime seeing how his WHIP has gone up and it always seems he never gets a 1-2-3 inning anymore.

Lots of hits from batters leading off the inning and men getting on with the chance to score. If not for the defense, I think BJ would have more blown saves.

I think Adam Russell is close to getting hit hard and often.

Yes, he's gotten wins the last 2 days. I don't think he's good. It's a matter of time before he is exposed.

Linebrink becomes your closer. Or you can split it up between him and Dotel. Why would you give it to Russell? He's the bottom of the bullpen guy.
