I’ve made my first official wager of the SB. Let’s go 9ers!

Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio made controversial comments Wednesday while laying out a scenario for stopping Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes in Super Bowl 2020.

“I wanna be careful here because I’m not suggesting that [the 49ers] try to knock [Mahomes] out of the game,” Florio qualified on PFT Live.

“But at a certain point, you trade the risk of 15 yards, if you can send a message — and football is still a physical, violent game — if you can hit him, even if it’s close to the sideline, even if he’s maybe started into his slide? When the championship is riding on it, I think it’s a different analysis.”

I have to say the Chiefs. I think Andy Reid finally gets it done after all the heartbreak. Hard to believe he would lose to a rookie coach.

Niners have won pretty and ugly this year. But to me they still have no real star players. I like the old-schoolness of that, but I think Mahomes/Hill/Kelce should win if they do what they do.

And fuck Richard Sherman and his channeling of Kobe. He aint shit no more. Bosa is good but just a rookie. He will stay true to himself in the name of MAGA, but the Chiefs offense should win out.

Sherman had a resurgent year.

Doesn't Reid have a great record coming off a bye week?

As the game has gotten closer, I'm feeling more and more KC. And I don't think it will be particularly close.

Chiefs by at least 10.

It will be interesting to see the 49ers finally have to play an elite quarterback in the playoffs.

I've got an 8pm flight out of Tampa for $49. I will pregame with Cuban food at La Teserita, watch most of the first half from the airport, and Southwest has live network TV on their flights for free.

How is this controversial? He's just speculating and he's actually dead-right about it. This is the Super Bowl, you lay it all out.

The Chiefs defense has been really good for most of the 2nd half of the season. I think MANY are overlooking that defense. Chiefs win 37-12

Headed to the horseshoe in 20 minutes, hoping it's 55 by then.

san fran will come out hot, pop kc in the mouth, then kc will adjust and take the lead by the 3rd qtr and mahomes will make a couple magic plays to seal the game.

Under and Chiefs win but don't cover the initial SF +1.5 line via a late cover by SF. Gould misses a kick to cost SF the SB.

It's controversial because he's saying something so bleeding obvious that a second grader could offer the same insight.

MANY would be afraid to do it. Intentionally trying to injure the other teams star player in order to guarantee a SB victory. You'll have to be willing to live with the death threats and likely suspension. That's why you play the game.
