Definitely. That was an awkward game winner though.

Fouled out. Had a tough game.

Nice win today though.

He’s been playing great, but nothing he is doing seems like it would translate to NBA success.

That’s the sense I got while watching the 2nd half today but this is only like the 3rd partial IL game I’ve seen this year

Ayo has taken his game to another level the past 5-6 games.

“Awkward”? That was just an in your face I’m taller and better than you jumper. He’s put on muscle since last year. He’s starting to dominate games.

Maybe it’s because I’m used to watching the NBA and not college but yes I considered that awkward. He couldn’t get by his guy and then had to settle for an off balance contested mid ranger. I’m glad it went in. I was rooting for them.

Ayo getting around his guy is not a problem he needs to work on. That’s his strength.

Little awkward but the use of his hands and body to create a little bit of space to put up the shot was nice.

In the Weber era, my response would have been: "That'll come later."

But I'm a believer in Underwood.

It's probably true. 3 road wins at places that very few other teams are going to win at.

This is a pretty good article about the changes Underwood made and why he got rid of the high pressure defense:

Yeah, that's a good article, definitely. That switch with Ayo and Frazier has worked for both. Georgi has been playing well, too. If Georgi and Kofi could shoot just a little better...

Would love to see the Illini meet Auburn in the NCAAs.

Thought they'd have a slightly higher ranking this week, but I'll take it. Nunna-nunna-nineteen.

Booty-shakin' time

I'll check back in 40 minutes for Dr. Ken's assessment.

Another win tonight. Big game at Iowa this weekend. If they win that one I will really start to believe this could be a sweet 16 team.

next 5 games ALL against ranked teams. Will be an interesting and telling stretch.

Should be fun.

As long as they stop kicking people they have a chance to do something interesting.

Enjoying the wins but would be nice to see them shoot over 40% some time. They would be unstoppable.

They have to be able to get the ball to Kofi down on the block more consistently. I was listening on the radio last night and there were long stretches when the Illini were on offense that I didn't hear Kofi's name. I was wondering if he had come out of the game, but he hadn't.

they should be a team that won't be upset in the first round of the tournament because of the diversity of the way they can score

Looking forward to the game this afternoon. Nice to have something to watch to kill the Super Bowl pregame countdown. Gonna be a tough one. Winning on the road in the Big Ten is really hard.
