White Sox fans, Juan Uribe has started each of the first 2 games of this series vs. the Athletics. Last night, Uribe started at shortstop for Orlando Cabrera before O.C. came in late in the game and shifted over to second base. Tonight, #5 in the special camouflage uniform started at second for Alexei Ramirez. He went 0-for-3 in each of the first 2 games of this series, and I think is now hitting under .210 for the season. In an earlier thread, Uribe's name has been mentioned in trade talks with the Baltimore Orioles. In the Sun-Times today, there's a report suggesting Uribe could be headed to the Los Angeles Dodgers. While it's doubtful the Sox will get much for Juan, the story today reports that the even higher priced Rafael Furcal is sidelined with back surgery. Given how much money Furcal signed with Los Angeles as a free agent 2 seasons ago, Uribe's salary seems like a bargain by MLB standards. If a Uribe deal falls through yet again, Brian Anderson or DeWayne Wise could be the odd men out with word that Nick Swisher will be back in center field once Paul Konerko is activated from his oblique injury. While Anderson still has minor league options with "AAA" Charlotte, the same can't be said for Wise, and I don't think Ozzie Guillen wants to send DeWayne packing again, only to be possibly claimed by another team that might also be contending....

They are NOT going to send Anderson down or release him. He has too many big hits this year and is their best defensive outfielder. If they were smart, they would keep Swisher at first, Anderson in center and split the DH duties between Thome and Konerko-or trade one of them, if there is any interest at all in either.
