I was hoping they'd get Garrett Morris in the opening monologue where he could have done some joke about Murphy riding his coattails or whatever. It went pretty well. Weekend Update was really good.

But yes, it's a pretty awful show. Colin Jost and Pete Davidson don't even make me crack a smile.

Interesting reaction to the Gumby character, he was able to get away with the type of racial humor guys like Rickles used to do (seems Murphy based Gumby on Rickles) in the current PC culture. It was funny to us that remember that era, but the younger audience seemed to enjoy it as well. Hopefully we can get back to the days where people weren't offended by everything.
