Poor guy...he wants to play for our dumpster fire of an organization again. Clearly he hasn't payed attention to the Cosmo Kramer-esque dealings of Ryan Pace or the DAWBER from "Coach" coaching of Mark Nagy.

Must've also forgot the humiliating mistake it was by the Bears in letting him go in the first place.

But man, I love his passion and loyalty for the Bears. He's a good dude.

It does not say anything in your link about him wanting to play for us.

The humiliating thing here appears to be your lack of Bears knowledge.

I saw a thing on Twitter that Olsen said he was hoping the Bears would call for a meeting.

Whatever.

If Greg Olsen from 9 years ago was showing up, I'd be in...but at this point...pass.

During an appearance on ESPN 1000 in Chicago on Tuesday, Olsen said he was hoping to hear from the team now that he’s on the open market but that no call has come in yet.

“I’ll be honest, in my heart, I was hoping they would have been one of the first calls,” Olsen said. “To my knowledge, we have not heard from them. Whether or not they do or not is hard to say.”

Good dude, I know many civilians who got to know him in the Libertyville area. He definitely didnt want to leave in the first place.

Agreed. He hasn't been relevant since 2016.

They already have a broken TE. There is no reason to bring in another.

especially one that doesn't block

There are some nice names out there in TE FA including:

Hunter Henry
Austin Hooper
Eric Ebron

As I've written before, my guy would be Nick Vannett as I think he is the best blocking TE who also has pass catching skills. I think he would be sufficiently inexpensive so that they wouldn't be blowing their budget on TE. I seem to remember that there is no savings by cutting Burton and he was pretty good when he was mentally healthy

Lol....oh you mean the same Brandon Marshall that the rest of the league knew the Dolphins were gonna release anyway?

You should be humiliated you didn't know that.

I give the Bears credit for going out and getting their guy rather than wait for him to be released and take their chances. As much of a headcase as he was, Marshall put up some of the best WR numbers the Bears have ever seen.

Some of the doctors that treat Marshall for his mental health wouldn't even be able to help you.

I'm a Hooper or Howard guy. I want a big play guy.

The league has moved away from the one-dimensional receiving tight end. That's kind of the problem with Burton, even if he does stay healthy he does not really contribute in the run game.

Bears fans would be stupid if they weren't looking to get Olsen on the team making minimal money. 2020 Greg Olsen would still be their best tight end option considering their current roster. Olsen isn't looking to make $5M a season.

I don't think you get it, man.

(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky needs help NOW.

A rookie TE who takes 2-3 years to arrive isn't going to help (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky or the team NOW.

Pace...Nagy...(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky....all 3 are on the hot seat.

Frankly I'm SHOCKED that Pace hasn't reached out

But then again, I guess I'm not shocked. Because Ryan Pace is the biggest BUFFOON in all of football.

There is at least one football guy who is a bigger buffoon.

Hopkins is going to be a beast, he's better than a 35 year old Olsen week one.. Olsen who's been hurt three straight years BTW.

He'll learn the playbook just as fast as Olsen would.

Eifert will get a concussion and break his leg during the contract signing ceremony. Pass

He's a liability in the run game, a truly unwilling blocker, watching him "block" an OLB or even a safety when he just needs to slow down the back side pursuit is embarrassing.
