The off-season is here, and the XFL is making this hibernation unBEARable hearing the coaches say shit like "X-Pac Hippo Ace Sleeve 42 Panama Jack" between every single play.

So let's have some fun.

Bears fans the world over already ROAST Nagy for his "Be You" bullshit, so what else ya got?

My vote for DUMBEST Nagy quote:

"My job is to get 1st Downs."

No, you dumb shit, your job is to WIN GAMES. There is nothing I despise more than a coach dropping that moronic line when asked why he didn't run the ball more, because he finds running the ball "boring."

If George Halas were still alive or Ditka still in shape, they'd take Nagy out back of Halas Hall and tan his hide Adrian Peterson style.

You wish. We're taking about Matt "Be You" Nagy. Not Bill Bellichick.

I initially liked the hire, I was willing to live with a young guy learning from his mistakes on the job...he lost me after that quote... My runner up would be " I know we've gotta run the ball, I'm not stupid"

Can you imagine the quotes if they interviewed them on the sidelines right after bonehead playcalls?

Yeah that was a gem too....especially since he then preceded to call the fewest run plays in a game in 100 years of Bears football, the following week.

I wanted to stab him in the neck with my old pen knife and let the poor bastard bleed out when he pulled that crap.

312 has the top two nailed down ... I'd put 'gotta run the ball' as number one though.

I still like my vote the best because of the context of the quote...

He dropped "My job is to get 1st Downs" in response to a line of questioning about the lack of balance. It was just his arrogant asshole way of dismissing the people wondering where the RUN game has gone in Chicago. I bet Ditka wanted to grind his cigar out on Nagys face when he said that.

Apparently Nagy didn't notice how many 1ST DOWNS teams like the Ravens, Titans, and 49ers got this year by RUNNING THE BALL.

I see you failed to list the team that actually won the Super Bowl because they were able to pass the ball when they needed to in order to overcome deficits and score touchdowns.

Running the ball is not the answer to everything. All you ever talk about is running the ball. The Super Bowl Champs the Chiefs finished the year 23rd overall in rushing yards, and the Arizona Cardinals finished the year 10th overall in rushing yards and were 5-10-1 on the year.

Neither is passing the ball.

But I never said running the ball is everything. But I'll be the FIRST to say that BALANCE is. I only talk about running the ball because we are being screwed by a coach who DOESNT wanna talk about running the ball.

Nagy needs to grasp the importance of balance. Especially with a QB who needs all the balance he can get. Or he'll never make it.

There's no such thing as balance. You run what works. If you're gashing the secondary for 15 yards a pass then you don't stop just to maintain some arbitrary fidelity to "balance". And similarly if your RBs are running for eight yards a carry then you keep that going. Obviously you'll have to mix things up to keep them on their toes but if you go into a game predetermined to throw 50 passes and run 50 times then you've already lost.

By the way, you have to go back to 2006 to find what can be called a run first offense winning it all. That was when Big Ben was too green to lead the team to victory on the strength of his arm. All other teams won because their QBs could sling the ball, like Frank suggested. This argument has no merit.

You mean the argument you just created in your own head? Lol.

You're adorable "coaching me up" about things I never said, with all the latest bullet points from DUH Magazine.

No shit you roll with what works. But a smart coach will always have a plan for running the ball in the game plan, because when you need to eat clock, RUNNING is normally how that's done.
